A buddy of mine has been raving about this place for quite awhile now and I’ve been trying to find something a little closer to Puyallup, so I thought I’d give them a call to see if they could fit me in. By chance, they were able to get me in 30 minutes later and I drove down. The business itself is fairly typical of a barber shop, but I’d say it’s more of a salon/barber shop than an actual barber shop. For what it is, it certainly creates a much more diverse clientele versus what I’m used to at other strictly barbershop settings. For the style I’m after, a standard barbershop is fine and I’m curious if the higher cost is reflective of that. Anyways, a gentleman sat me right down and we got to work after a bit of back and forth about what I needed, including showing him a couple pictures on my phone. The cut went well. He did mumble a bit and I had to ask him to repeat himself several times, but he was patient with the cut and seemed genuinely interested in making sure I got a quality cut. Conversation was light and typical of a first time cut. I was more or less fine with everything until it was time to pay. When asked if I was paying cash or card, I said card and he said he didn’t take a card, but that the gas station down the street had an ATM. Being a first timer here, I really wish I had been warned when I called in. Very odd for a business like that to not accept cards these days, so pretty annoyed to hop in the car, drive away, pay a $2.75 atm fee and then drive back. Not sure if I’ll be back. I’m happy with my...
Read moreMy daughter's best friend who is a 25 year old mother of two babies took her 3 year old yesterday to get his first "barber's" cut. No prices were shared with her or posted! Fyi she had her 3 year old and 9 month old with her as she is a single mother. The barber charged her $60!!! Btw he already had short hair. It was literally a quick 10 minute trim! Totally ripped her off! $60!!!! It's Fife! The shop is located in an old run down strip mall! She literally walked in from the street since the apartment that she just moved into last week is behind the barbers. The apartments help low income families. She is a single mom who was totally taken advantage of. She is too timid to say something. So I am for her! This happened yesterday on June 1. On our way home today (6/2) from grocery shopping I stopped by and shared my disdain with one of the barbers who happened to be present yesterday when she had come in with the kids. He actually remembered her coming in, but did not cut her son's hair. Guess what? It doesn't matter! You all work there! You all should know better than charge $60 to trim a 3 year old's hair! You took advantage of a young mom. Shame on you!! You are not some high end barber shop in downtown Seattle or Bellevue! You are in a crappy strip mall in Fife! Don't ever do that again to someone! It's messed up on so many levels! Bad business...
Read moreI always make my appointments with Peter. He’s the most reliable barber I’ve had in years. His Instagram is @masterp.the.barber He’s quick to respond to your messages and is always on time. You tell him what you want done to your hair and he’ll do just that. The barbershop itself is one of the nicer ones I’ve been to in the area. I’ve been to “barbershops” in Puyallup, Lakewood, and Tacoma, this is definitely the nicest and cleanest one around. All of the other barbers there are professional, especially if there are kids in the shop. This is the only shop I’ve been to where other barbers will compliment your barber on the good job they’re doing, even giving advice on how to do something a little different to get a better result. They all are friendly and the atmosphere is all...
