It's been over a year since I last stayed here and I must say I see a lot of improvement. The first thing I look at when I check in is, well, the lobby. It was clean and well organized. Some signage here and there but tastefully presented and not overwhelming. (Not hand written and taped to the wall like some.) Then I am greeted by the front desk host. Not an overly friendly or chatty gentleman and he was efficient, well groomed and dressed appropriately and very professional. Those characteristics are the ones I value and expect ...the front desk is the face of the motel /hotel and the check in process sets the tone for the stay. He is a 5 star representative of this establishment. Then I get to the room, when I open the door I don't smell anything... nothing is what I expect to smell ,not over powering glade plugins masking stench or worse, the stench itself, it had no smell at all and in my opinion that's how it should be. It is decorated in the new standard motel 6 look which I like. The window sill was clean, the air system was also clean and most importantly functioning correctly both heat and A/C. It has a small cafe style tall table but only one chair which for me was fine as I was traveling alone but they normally have two. The table top was intact and stable. The bed is soft yet firm, the bedding clean and crisp. There is no dresser , only a long TV stand with shelves that I was able to use. They is also a closet area with hangers....wooden hangers ...classy. The restroom , limited counter space and a little small. Toilette and sink both function properly, I had to reconnect the pole thing under the sink so I could open and the close the drain stop no big deal . The shower, walk in , shower head works well and the water gets super hot if you want it to, both hot and cold function properly. The restroom is clean and stocked with wash cloths, hand towels and bath towels, also a spare wash cloth folded neatly by the sink acting as a pillow for two bars of hand soap. No shampoo or conditioner is provided. Not a big deal to me. What I would like to see is a mini fridge...and a coffee pot....some might even say a microwave. I am so used to seeing them in every other place I have stayed recently I have come to expect them and I always bring refreshments and look forward to making a fresh cup of hot coffee in the morning before I check out in the morning ...that I didn't get to do. The grounds outside, tastefully landscaped and free of debris. Outdoor pool was not open but it is too early for that. There was some minor construction work happening but it was not overwhelming...
Read moreOverall the actual hotel is OK. I stayed here for well over a month and had multiple different little issues with some of the employees here. The lady in charge of housekeeping was always rude with me yet I'd see her in the lobby saying hi and smiling with other guests. Lenora one of the managers was always very rude and hard to talk to. As for the cleanliness of the rooms, I'm one to look closely at things and I have cleaned every sink in every room I have been in with a toothbrush because of all the nasty green gunk nobody bothered to clean. In a couple of the rooms the molding was lined with black yucky stuff. And in one of the bathrooms there was a puddle of pee on the lower part of the toilet. And every single towel I have ever used at this motel 6 has had at least one of the same black curly (Mexican) hairs on it. I always shake out and observe my towel before I use it. Sometimes I find them on the bed/pillows too. I could go on but I would rather focus the rest of the review on something good. The first night I checked in was with Natalie. She goes completely above and beyond her job to make sure you are happy. She knows exactly what she's doing and she does it well. If it wasn't for her I would have an overall crappy memory of this place. These last few months haven't been the best in my life and I've only been staying at this place because I have had to but it's nice when I'm checking in with her she really makes you forget you are checking into a cheaper place and she gives you a reason to smile. She walks around with a little glow surrounding her. Today I checked in again and the manager Chris wasn't going to let me but Natalie told her to bypass it and let me check in. I don't know why she did that and she certainly didn't have to but if it wasn't for her I'd be sitting in my car right now with my cat wondering where I am going to go. Note: It is helpful that this place doesn't need a card or a deposit. That's the main reason why I've come back. Another great employee who I can't recall her name, Nadia? The younger Mexican girl. She's just a doll, a little ball of sunshine she's sooo sweet and does an awesome job here. I give her and Natalie 11 out of 10 stars and please keep up the good work you two...
Read moreWe just needed a place for 2 nights while in town for a family members graduation. So with that being said majority of our time would’ve have been spent elsewhere. I didn’t really expect much knowing this is a motel but the whole housekeeping staff including managers need to be retrained. The concept of the pressed hardwood floors really threw me. I get it may cut down on time spent vacuuming or the cost associated with vacuum cleaners, but the dust build up and stickiness of the floors was unnaceptable. Upon stepping in just to drop off our luggage that was the 1st thing I noticed. My husband went to the office and asked that the floors be cleaned while we were gone. The staff was very friendly and accommodating but when we can back it didn’t look much better. I instructed our son to keep his socks on at all times and went to get the shower ready for him. Behind the door on a hook was a nasty dirty towel with someone else’s bodily fluid on it. By now I’m very disgusted because if the housekeeper missed that, what else had they failed to clean? Ok so I just decided to just use one of our clean towels to remove this used one and set them both by the front door. The shower situation wasn’t the best either, the hot and cold indicators are backwards and when we did get hot water the water pressure drastically decreased. So day 2 we immediately left for our festivities and did not get back until midnight. Expecting to take a hot shower and lay down. We were greeted by the used towels left by the front door, unmade beds, and nothing restocked. Our room was not even touched!! Frustrated my husband again went to the front desk and ask for clean towels so we could at least shower. This was a very unpleasant experience and on top of that the walls and the doors are filthy. I would suggest a deep cleaning of at...
