InStinct Salon — Local services in Flat Rock

I visited this salon with high hope's because it had good review's...I paid almost 200.00 for my service. I don't hate my hair...However I'm not impressed either. The girl that did my hair spent 3 1/2 hour's on what was supposed to be a highlight, and lowlight color...However no lowlight's here. Just heavily bleached, and over processed hair. After she failed to give me what I asked for she went silent and began to add a bunch of toner... mind u I had not complained or even seen my hair yet!!.....She knew she screwed up!!! When my hair was finally dry enough to see the finished product I knew I had been robbed.!! To top it off something told me not to let the the young lady cut it....I ignored my intuition and allowed her to trim it. I now have what looks like a mullet!! I have short layer's in the front, and bang's from 1995 I didn't want. I think the worst part about this experience. Is the response I got when I told her I wasn't happy with my hair...The response she gave was in 3 month's I can come back, and try something else or put the lowlights in....Really!! I JUST PAID YOU 200.00 for something I didn't get..So now I can come back and pay you another 200.00, and you will fix your mistake ...I don't think so. This place is so overpriced, and customer satisfaction is not a priority..Save your money. There are way better salons that prioritize...

Allie K was so great! I have tics and she was very accommodating about it. She said we could take a break whenever I needed it and she started with my bad side first in case! She also taught me how to style my new curtain bangs, and talked to me about getting wispy bangs in the future if I wanted. I was also telling her about my anxiety around getting my haircut (on top of having general anxiety) and she was very understanding about it. She said she hopes she helped—she did, I’m so happy! I haven’t had my hair short for over 10 years because that last haircut was so bad. I’ve rarely gotten haircuts since because my experiences have always been iffy, but this was great! Besides the haircut itself, she was very accommodating with my disability and she even offered to help put my winter coat on. Even when discussing it during the haircut (I brought it up), she was very respectful compared to the sorts of comments I’ve received out in public, like asking me if I’m comfortable sharing things, etc. I’m not sure their names, but I had other staff members hold the door open for me and make sure I got to my car okay. They were all so very friendly and accommodating toward me, and I look forward to my next visit! I’m attaching before and...

Highly Recommend Destany or Yesenia at Instinct Salon. I enjoy having them as my stylist’s, because they enjoy what they do, and I admire that. Both ladies are wonderful! My stylist has always been Destany since the store opened, and she gives excellent and quality service! She is easy to get along with and has awesome conversational skills. She is intelligent with hair, and any questions I have, you bet she has the answers to them! I have always cut my own hair, because I haven’t trusted a stylist for the fact that “they do what they want to do”, but I became old of that and I found this salon, and my 1st experience with Destany was great, and I have continued to trust her ever since!
