American Home Tech ( AHT) . They did our roof on in 2020. We had a few things that needed to be corrected. We were under warranty . Initially, when we were contacted by Russ, we were not impressed with his customer service , since we had met so many good people in 2020. We were so appreciative as this company had such a good reputation ,and we asked to speak to a manager and we were directed to Jennifer Groh. I cannot say enough about the Customer Service skills that Jennifer possessed . She made everything easy , professional, customer always first. As a previous business owner, we were so impressed. Because of Jennifer, I believe she will not only attract new customers, but make sure she keeps the old ! American Home Tech is blessed to have her expertise, attitude, and organization!! Shout out to other staff : Ben Schamer came out in Feb 2024 to talk to me about Gutters.. He was very honest and thorough. I was impressed as he said that they were older, but they were good. We did call him back in Feb 2025 when we decided to get them. So as a returning customer we called for an assessment of Gutters, and also to get some additional post roof "trim, work " , and chimney flashing completed. We had the pleasure of working with Eli Lee and Billie Combs. Both were committed to representing AHT well. They initially came out to look at some of the trim work that needed to be done post Roof Eli was assigned to the post roof needs , and I cannot say enough about how much effort he put into assisting in keeping a good customer. And then also they made sure that things were done right. Thank you Eli! Angel Garcia did an amazing job on the trim work / shingles on Bay windows . He was kind , professional, thorough!! After that, we were contacted by Jesse & Zach . Zach ,and Jesse both were also kind , professional & thorough!! AHT did an awesome job on our Gutters. Correcting anything that needed to be corrected without any question. As an older professional who had a history of owning a construction business, I really admired that. You do not see that much anymore!!! Zach Schulz ,and crew did a fantastic job on gutters! They were very pleasant, on time, & professional.. We were told by Jennifer ,and all of the Project managers that if we had any problems in the future to call ,and they would come back out ! Will Refer friends ,and family to AHT. Very impressive staff !! Excellent...
Read moreI used AHT because of a referral from my neighbor. My neighbor and I ended up getting our roofs replaced on the same day. The communication was mostly good (had some conflicting things being told to me by different people in the company). When materials were delivered, they switched my neighbor and I's materials and delivered them to the wrong house. This was a mistake the delivery guy caught and corrected. When scheduling occurred, I was told my roof would be done first, then my neighbors in the afternoon by the same crew. They started at my neighbor's house first and came to mine second without communicating this to me. It did throw a wrench in my schedule for the day as I planned around the time they told me. I only figured out what was going on when I called the project manager at 9 am to ask where they were because they gave me a ETA of 8 am. Project manager told me they would be at my house around 1-2 pm. Both our roofs were completed by 5 pm. I did have one issue from my experience. I had a retractable awning that was roof mounted on my old roof. The representative at AHT told me to let their roofing guys take the awning off and re-install it after the new roof install, that way if there were any issues or damage to the new roof, it would still be covered, and they would fix it for free. If I allowed the awning company to re-install it and they damaged something, then it would void the roof warranty. At the advice of AHT I let their roofing guys remove and re-install the awning. After the re-install, the awning started to pull off my roof as it was not installed properly. I called AHT and they came back out to remove the awning and repair my roof. At this point, AHT asked me to call the awning company to re-install the awning. They did offer to pay for it if there was any additional cost which was a nice gesture. I did call the awning company and they reinstalled the awning properly without any issue. Long story short, if you have an awning, no matter what the sales representative from ATH tells you, let the awning company re-install the awning. AHT did make the process of insurance claims very easy, and they are serious about 100% customer satisfaction. They remedied all issues I had and were very polite and understanding of...
Read moreIn Short:
They said it would cost, IDK exactly, $7,xxx for my roof. After the roof is on and the work is done they changed their numbers, and said "....you must dispute their inaccuracy compared to the insurance scope, not the scribbled, inaccurate numbers on the prebuild." (Amy Mitchell)
So the guy that comes to 1. Explain the process 2. Get you to sign 3. Take your deposit 4. Establish the business relationship with you.... His numbers are scribbled and inaccurate....
The longer explanation, without writing a whole book:
I have had an awful experience with American Home Tech.
There was storm damage that peeled back shingles, leaked inside, and damaged my gutters. They knocked on my door and asked to see my roof, oh man, a godsend! They got the insurance company to cover it. COOL! Wrong. They gave an estimate based on IDK what, then they included solar, drywall, painting.. all things I am either doing myself or have hired to someone else. Then they credited me for these services. I didn't understand that part and it should have been the first huge red flag. I was aware that there may be additional charges if there were additional damaged sheeting or other things found during the tear-down and installation. THERE WERE NOT any additional problems found. So there is no reason the estimate should have changed.
The install went mostly well, other than the nails with the plastic washers all over my yard. I'm still finding those. I think the roof is good, no leaks yet. They fixed the back gutter no problem and replaced the downspout in the back. They took down the damaged downspout in the front, but never replaced it. When asked they said it was a courtesy, replacing the back one.. but now I am on my own for the downspout up front I guess. After everything was done I paid what remained according to the installation agreement. Now they are saying I owe more, they keep presenting different numbers, they have record of payments that are not what I have paid.
Finally we have Amy Mitchell telling me I have 3 options I will pay I am to hire a third party to help them figure out their invoicing, and I pay "You ignore us, and we escalate...
