China City Buffet — Restaurant in Florence

My last review, a few months ago, is in the photo attached.

Nothing is getting better. Again, my family has been coming to this Buffet since it first opened. We loved it everybody was friendly the place was clean they have fresh clean food presentation.

When you eat here what is fresh is good the rest is not. They no longer take great Passion or devotion in the preparation of Chinese American food. Anyone who does not have experience with Chinese food may find it interesting. Let me share with you a long but informative review. Whoever is running the show now no longer cares what the customers think. We found out this evening when we share our concerns about our experience and was told that nobody else has complained and that she didn't care what we thought!

I was polite and quiet to her face. But let me tell you a few things about Chinese food that you have forgotten!

All Chinese food should be made with love and respect. Egg rolls do not come with only cabbage inside them. They come with a mixture of two or three vegetables plus occasionally pieces of meat. They're lightly deep-fried in a crisp clean oil, not saturated and dirty old heavy oil. Pork is never supposed to be cooked for so long that you cannot bite into it. If you're going to put frog legs on a buffet You Better Label it(!), you don't know who is allergic to it. Utensils for the sushi should be more than three Tong's for the three cases. Why is the seaweed so dry??? And if someone tells you that some of the buffet utensils were so dirty that you had to grab a clean pair of Chopsticks to get your own food, don't look at them as if they're crazy. Some of us do not handle food contamination or cross-contamination easily. The meat inside of dumplings should not be dried out. All fruits should be served fresh and mature not crunchy hard cold or brown.

The reason why this Buffet is so inexpensive is because they do not put any true quality devotion into their meals. And if they can get away with serving as junk at $11 a person and for just $3 more you can go to Empire Buffet and get food that is at least 2 grades better,? What is going on with you owner?

Where are you putting that money because it sure isn't in the carpet that hasn't been changed since the store was built! It hasn't gone into providing clean crisp nice uniforms for your employees who are wearing clothes they look like they just slept in yesterday. And owner the next time someone tries to quietly explain to use some of their concerns and unpleasantries do not compare them to other customers and do not look at them and say you don't care!

Why don't you spend money on having a better restaurant instead of giving us those cheap freebie Chinese calendars that were gifted to you by some other company using you for a...

Edit, okay after seeing more good reviews pop up on my feed I had to provide this edit for those that are saying this is good food you folks need to go to a real restaurant like Cathay Kitchen on Mall Road then you will know what good Chinese tastes like. And what it is to be in a clean restaurant with friendly staff. I just can't believe anybody thanks the slop at China City is good food and it's worth $30 for a couple . And the staff barely acknowledged we existed they pointed at a table walked by and picked up plates one time and gave us a bill . The place is dirty the food and buffets are a mess if this is what the front of the restaurant looks like I can't even imagine the condition of the kitchen. I don't know these folks and have nothing against them personally but if you are looking for good Chinese food and Sushi this is not the place.

Always looking for a good Chinese buffet since they're so hard to come by these days and somebody on Facebook recommended this place. Tonight was a Saturday night and they were busy so you think the food would be fresh but it was anything but. It was pretty much unedible. All the chicken was mush like it has been sitting out all day which means it was probably sitting in the back already prepared most of the day. I don’t even make reviews on restaurants and I’m honestly sad that I even have to make a bad review. I’ve recently visited to pick up door-dashes twice here so I decided to sit in and eat, off the back the customer service was not friendly, I politely said eating in for one and the woman at the front had an attitude no greeting and unwelcoming and then my server also was unfriendly made me feel like I didn’t belong there or something, he had mean face whole time with me like I was bothering him when I only ask for plasticware, and I was genuinely confused on the the rudeness and I found it quite interesting that my same waiter helped the guest next to me smiling and was more attentive to their table. I don’t know if it’s because I was the only younger black person in the establishment, I’m not quite sure what the reason. I was honestly nervous to even drink my beverage based on how he was acting and slid my beverage onto the table and walked away to continue with his other table next to me, I find very sad because I wanted to enjoy myself, but this was unfortunate that I had a very poor experience.
