Belk — Local services in Flowood

The only reason im giving 5 stars is because of Mrs. Kathy at the Estée Lauder counter SHE IS AN ANGEL A BLESSING AND JUST AWESOME her customer service skills are hands down 2021 holiday winner!! She is the only Belk employee in that store with any customer service skills. I have been hung up on by everyone else same person multiple times in all types of departments trying to reach handbags and even the manager on duty but that extension hung up on me too. I will be calling belk corporate Monday I’ve worked retail for years and years and it’s sad only one person there Mrs Kathy that I’ve spoken with that’s been clocked in working from 2pm to 6:15 pm on 12/18/21 that has had any customer service skills or even attempted to help me she must be the only person that multitask between her customers to help everyone else…it’s absolutely ridiculous I know people are busy but someone could’ve taken my name and number looked for the item that can’t be found on the belk app or website but you have it in store I seen it yesterday but couldn’t buy it for the person that was with me. I’ve only been calling about it for 3 or 4 hours trying Flowood Columbus Tupelo and someone would hear what I say and say I’ll transfer you or idk and then click hang up especially in Flowood and then when you recall that same Dept right back they don’t even answer I mean absolutely ridiculous …I wasn’t asking for the world just a certain hobo wallet that Mrs Kathy after I explained where to find it had it in less than 13 seconds in her hand… cause she is awesome and the only one working there today worthy of her job, a huge raise, and a management position! I went here with my fiancee so that she could use a gift card to buy a few Items and I did not have a good experience. We were in the women’s department and she was about to try on some dresses and other clothing when a saleswoman approached us and asked if we had a belk credit card. I told her we didn’t and we were just using a gift card, so she then proceeded to go into some sales pitch about why we should get a belk credit card. I told her sorry but we didn’t want a belk credit card and I had to tell her no at least three other times. She even decided to try to pit me and my fiancee, who doesn’t even have a job, against each other and convince her to apply for a credit card. Finally I had to firmly say excuse me but stop we do not want another credit card. This is completely inappropriate and unacceptable.

Also the clothes are really expensive for the quality and the sale prices are pretty convoluted. My fiancee was looking at some off brand leggings and they were almost as expensive as lulu lemon.

If you get a coupon in the mail chances are that anything you would actually want to buy won’t actually work with the coupon because they always have dozens...

Shopping was fun. Getting someone to help you or even tell you where something was in the store, was another story. It appeared that one out of two people must have called in. It took hours to get out of the store. If it wasn't bought in their department, I am speaking of a particular makeup counter, they couldn't help you and quickly left he counter. The very busy shoe Dept accepted anyone from anywhere. They were friendly, polite and helpful. Many , many people walked out and the alarms would go off as they left, I thought it was kinda strange. Then when I left it did the same to me. I looked down to be sure I only had my one bag. I did so I kept walking. When I got home I unpacked the bag and later started washing jeans that I had bought my husband. One pair still had the tag on the leg that you need a machine or something to remove. I told my husband that I would have to take them back and just pray I didn't get accused of stealing, even though I had my receipt. (You never know!) My husband took them outside and a few minutes later brought them back in...tag free! Thank God! Not on another Mother's Day...
