There is one reason I didn't give it 5 stars and that is the service. I went here for the first time for mine and my wife's anniversary. We felt like doing something different than going out to an expensive restaurant for steaks. We had been wanting to try this place and figured why not. It started out just fine. We went at 8-8:30 on a Saturday, and were seated immediately. We explained to the waiter that this was our first time. He semi explained how things worked but it still wasn't very clear. I pieced it together and figured it out. We ordered our drinks and apps which came out very quickly (Neither brought by the waiter) he returned a number of minutes after we finished the apps. We ordered our first number of dishes. We had paid for the buffet. You basically choose from a huge list of things and they bring them out for you to cook on the grill in front of you. The waiter left and quickly returned and oiled the grill. The grill is supposed to stay oiled throughout. Ours was oiled 2 times over the hour and a half we were there. Our food didn't show up for another 15 minutes. He quickly set down the food. We wanted to order some Sake, but he was gone before I had the chance too. He returned 30 minutes later. We ordered one more round of food. The place was beginning to empty out so we had to forgo the sake. That was literally the last time we saw him. Someone else brought out the last round of food. I'd also like to point out we were his only table. I don't know if he had been pulled from the back or what the deal was.. Overall the food and restaurant itself were great. I have to say though, especially when you have told the server that it's your first time. You would hope to be wowed by everything on your first trip to a new spot especially the service to ensure your return. It was honestly some of if not the worst service from a waiter I've ever had. I have left bad waiters 15-20%. I typically leave 25-30%. I legitimately left this guy 6% and didn't feel great about doing that. We will definitely be back, but I hope like hell the service is better.. it would be hard for it...
Read moreThe TLDR? Amazing restaurant with delicious food. Eat here.
I've been twice now, and I can't be more impressed! First, my wife and I came here for date night to try the grill at the table. For various reasons, mostly anime related I will admit, I've dreamed of trying this style of restaurant for years. Yakiniku did not disappoint! We tried an absolute smorgasbord of food and every single thing was absolutely delicious, especially the marinated beef. The kimchi, the rice, everything... Not to mention the fantastic desert with the red bean fish pastry + ice cream.. Absolutely heavenly. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. To top it off, I absolutely loved the little candy we got with our ticket. So much so that I had to ask them at the front desk what they were and how I could get them, so they gave me a handful to enjoy! We were blown away by this first experience.
Second experience: As soon as we left the first visit I knew I wanted to come back and try some of their pre-made menu items like Yakisoba, kimchi rice, etc. Fast forward a few weeks and I have a hankering. I've been planning to go when I got the chance and I just happen to have decided to get some pickup after a pretty nasty hail storm came through town just a few hours before writing this review... I ordered through their website and got a phone call almost immediately after submitting telling me they had closed due to the weather. As I was expressing my apologies for the inconvenience, the manager decided they could go ahead and make my order for me. They were so kind to do that, and the food was FANTASTIC.
To sum it up: I've yet to have anything that wasn't delicious from Yakiniku, and the staff has proven to be very kind and helpful. They have more than earned a five star rating from me, as well as my continuing business whenever possible! Massive thank you to the Yakiniku staff and management. I hope y'all are doing ok after the storm and that you all get home safe. Keep up the...
Read moreIf you want to eat well, as kings and queens of old, this is a great place to do so. The big draw is, obviously, the table grill where you can toss thinly sliced meats over a fire, a in a few short minutes, pull perfectly seared beef, chicken, pork, and seafood onto your plate. Oh, and you can't forget the veggies you can grill as well: zucchini, mushrooms, sweet potato, and onion.
There are two ways to order: ala carte (a touch more expensive, but catered to your tastes) and the truly exceptional meal deals for multiple people that include appetizers and desserts. If you need to feed a family of four (or more), this place can accommodate your needs.
But don't forget about sampling the other, more traditional Korean fare. The usual bibimbap is there, along with bulgogi and one or two extra items. There are also donburi bowls (rice and meat with a fried egg on top), standard hibachi choices, and noodle plates. One unique item for dessert is a fried pastry shaped like a little fish waffle, filled with a sweet red bean paste.
Everything from the clear soup to the grilled meat is savory and flavorful. They don't over-sauce anything, but every dish gets just enough seasoning to really taste like something.
One small issue could be the choice of music: yes, there is modern hip hop, but they also do like K-pop in there, naturally. It's less of bother for most people, but if you're annoyed by such things, be aware.
Overall, the prices range from very inexpensive (the hibachi and grilled meal deals are very good value for the food you get) to pretty up-there (like ordering the most expensive meats ala carte with loads of other extras).
