Chic's Antiques and Variety — Local services in Floyd

Typically a fun visit. However today when we came in 40 minutes before closing time the man complained that we were there. Upstairs and downstairs lights were off and he ran around bringing outside decorations in and changing the signs to closed as we looked around well before closing time. Muttering to himself the entire time as we looked around. There was another woman there who had something she wanted to buy and she ended up putting it back because he was ignoring her wanting to checkout. Not our typical experience, but this was very frustrating when we drove so far to visit.

Edit after owner's response: Please read other negative reviews, clearly the owner has an ego problem as everyone's complaints he has responded to have been blamed on them. I stand by my previous review and have actually lowered my review from the rude and unprofessional response. I see the owner has since changed his response to hide how unprofessional his original response was. I did have a positive review of the store previous to that experience. It's... Interesting. I guess there are three floors, but only looked through the main and bottom. Very, very eclectic selection but much of it is very unorganized. Crystals and rocks are in two locations, random older tech is everywhere, some areas are dark and you question why they have carpeting when there seems to me a real mildew issue.

There's a neat section of a local artist that was new to me and worth stopping by just to check them out. The people were nice and friendly.
