My father purchased a dishwasher, washer, dryer, and stove $4600 on 11/27/23. The dishwasher pump went bad after 13 months. When we called about the repair the first thing we were told, is that there was no warranty. We had to pay $135 to have someone come to look at it and determine it was the pump and they would call the next day with the quote. 2 days went by and no communication from Benson's. I called to request the quote for the repairs. The manager I spoke with agreed to do the repair for the cost of the part. He ordered it that day and said it would be there 2 days later. On the 3rd day I call and the woman I spoke with said she didn't know anything about the part. After I insisted that it was ordered and should have arrived she went to look for it and found it. I asked about scheduling, for tomorrow. She said that someone would have to call me in the morning to schedule. I explained that my father passed away last Sunday, and his funeral is schedule for tomorrow afternoon and we are leaving for Iowa after. I really need to schedule the repair for tomorrow morning. She would not make any effort to help with the scheduling. I asked for a manager, she said she would be with me in minute. I was surprised when a man got on the line, he said he was the owner. I explained the situation about my father passing and that we are now trying to schedule dishwasher repair around the funeral. He offered no condolences after learning one of his customers had passed. He said that his company doesn't make the appliances so it isn't his fault it broke after 3 mo of use and it isn't his fault he does not control the scheduling of the service. When I mentioned that even he was providing poor customer service. Given the situation, at a minimum he should have offered condolences after learning of his customers death. We are trying to work around a funeral and can't get anyone to even call the person that schedules the repair man to try to get an idea of when they will be able to come tomorrow. He continued to yell and argue that he can't do anything about it. I let him know I would leave a review detailing this experience. He said, "how stupid will you look leaving a review about a 13 mo old dishwasher that broke." "If you are going to leave a review, I won't repair the dishwasher." I told him that was his choice, I will leave a review regardless of how this ends. He said that he would not repair the dishwasher and we could find another company to service it. At this point we have no interest repairing a dishwasher that is 13 mo old and that was only used for 3 months. All of this just because the owner wouldn't even try to call his repair technician today to see what the schedule was for tomorrow. Response to owner:
First let me start by saying no one at spoke to at Benson's was at any point Rude or disrespectful. I my review is based on the service i received alone. I had a dishwasher that went out in a rental property so I called to have someone come service. We set a date had my renter take off to be there the a day before they called and rescheduled to another day, well enough things happen so They came out and said the control board was bad as well as another part. We set up the day the next week to make the repair then the day of the repair no one shows up so call them and reschedule to another day then a few days before i get a call saying everyone in their maintenance department has been really sick and can they reschedule for another day, I say i really need to get it done i would rather we did not but then pretty much get told its going to be another day. Set that date and low and behold no one shows. So for the count I've had appointments set twice now for no one to show and no call and two appointments moved at their request. I call them back and then get told the part needed is on back order and they cant say when it will be in. I give it a week and call back and get told still no part but might be better just to buy a new dishwasher. Call back after another week and ask what the status is and get told they will call me right back to let me know. about 5hrs later I call them back again and get told they still don't know when the part will be in maybe a few weeks. Told them to just cancel it and will just buy a new dishwasher at this point being close to month in. Bought new DW from Lowes and was picked up and installed that day for about the same cost as their repair. Got a call this morning asking where they can send their bill for their initial service call. Sadly will never be able to recommend or use Benson's in the future, just way below par customer service and...
   Read moreVery disappointed đ my dishwasher went down during the hurricane call Benson's they told me that I needed a control board and that I would have to bring it in called several times to check on it but was told that they we waiting on parts after 3 weeks I was nearby so I stop in to check on it they told me the part was in and it was be fixed in about 30 min charged me $264 dollars for a pump took it home and hooked it up it would still not work call them next morning told me repairman would be there 1:00 stayed home called them back at 3:00 they told me that it stunk and was all rusted up inside and was not worth fixing (my guesting is why you put a pump in a dishwasher that ain't worth fixing) so they told me to bring it in and they would remove the part and refund my money we were out of town so we said we would be home in two days we asked where are old pump was and they said they threw it away the next day they call us and said they would give us a brand new one had some damage we looked at it and agreed even though it had servre damage to the legs and back of frame was bent severely and it had damage to the top of the control panel my husband worked 2hrs on the frame so it could be leveled he installed it turn it on and water poured out of it around the bottom of the tub called them back they said bring it back in took it back in they said we will let you know the next day I said enough is enough I went back to get my money back and they told me they were going to order control panel for my original 2 year old Kichenaid nearly 5 weeks later I said no thanks got my money back for part and cut my losses and left both dishwasher...
