Edit: My husband went and posted a review on their Facebook page, and someone affiliated with the restaurant went and looked on my husbandâs Facebook page and saw where he worked. She then went on and reviewed my husband on his employerâs Facebook page and called my husband a scammer. The business page has blocked me and my husband, and the woman that reviewed my husband said her Facebook was âclonedâ and it was not her that left that review on my husband. I donât believe it for one second. I made sure it was not a duplicate page. I have never seen a business act so unprofessional in my life.
Edit #2 in response to owner: We were not given a refill and no you do not have footage. We were not given any refills during our visit. You also did not respond to the Facebook incident of someone going to my husbandâs employerâs Facebook page and calling him out calling him a scammer. If you are going to lie and say you have footage and go out of your way to do what was done on Facebook, I have no doubt you are also lying about your eggs.
Edit #3: After doing a quick Google search of the woman that went and made retaliation review of my husband on his employerâs work Facebook page, it was the actual owner of this restaurant, Heather Mindell. When I confronted her on Facebook messenger, she said she had no idea what I was talking about and her Facebook had been âclonedâ which is a lie. I called to speak to the manager of this restaurant, and she told me she didnât have any idea who Heather Mindell was. Something is seriously wrong with the people that run this place and work there.
Original Review: My husband and I were sat at a table a few minutes after we arrived, but once we sat down we waited about 10 minutes for someone to come to our table because the waitress didnât even know she was supposed to be taking care of us. People were sat after us and got their order taken before us. The employees just seemed unorganized and all over the place. We finally ordered and waited a little over an hour for our food. We were barely checked on the entire time and not even given a refill even though it was obvious our drinks were low. My husband had to get up and get straws even though he asked. My husband and I ordered food items that included eggs. I couldnât even finish my scrambled eggs because they were obviously powdered eggs. We asked and were told they were not powdered. The consistency was not of a real egg. My husband has eaten powdered eggs several times and could immediately tell. Iâve eaten real eggs enough to know the consistency was not a real egg. I went to the bathroom and when I went to wash my hands, the soap dispenser wasnât working. They had a bottle of soap, but it was almost empty to the point where I couldnât even pump it out. I had to open the bottle and pour a little bit of soap on my hands to wash them. We do not recommend coming here. We will...
Read moreThis restaurant recently moved in a big and better location. Quaint, Ocean vs Bohemian Atmosphere. I hate to say anything negative as they have a cool thing going but I can only compare to A hip coffee shop serving limited foods and frazzled waitresses. The frappe was Great! Better than Starbucks or McDonald's. The Buffet was confusing as they have 2 different prices. 1 time buffet for $8.99. Then unlimited for $16.99. If you have a hunger man who loves to have seconds; he will be irk. There are other buffet around town that are cheaper and have a variety including fruit..etc. Today's consist of French toast, biscuit, Sausage links, Bacon, Sausage and gravy, grits that taste like gouda cheesy grits, The hashbrown casserole was not casserole it was cheesy, onion hashbrowns & scrambled eggs. The food seem warmer than most and French toast was dry. I guess you have to ask for syrup if you can catch a waitress that can remember. I would consider a tablet so they can write down things. We had to request our table to be clean as there was crumbs on top and food on the side of table & clean silverware. We observed a couple leave with their children after finishing their meal. Later a girl wipe the table but she did not sweep the floor under the table. We observed crumbs around under the table that didn't appear to be cause by the children but piles of crumbs to make a loaf of bread. I am not trying to write a disappointing review I really would love to see this place thrive. We work in Healthcare and our family in another state is restaurant food inspector. I understand these days, it is hard to staff places as we have the same problem in healthcare. I would love to see more deep cleaning. Another suggestion would be since the waitress are so busy taking food orders they leave the ticket with the patron and keep a copy for the restaurant. Maybe the patron pay at the register or somewhere so the waitress can direct their attention to the patrons by helping orders, more Attentive to the patron and Attentive to the cleansing of the tables, silverware and floors. We observed many tickets incorrect and orders to incorrect patron. I would add fruit to buffet or menu to give some lightness to the buffet or menu. They have a similar atmosphere to Southern Grind Coffee House but still need some...
Read moreCame in Friday around 10 am. We were greeted right away and asked to sit in the bar area because it seemed more interesting with the decor around but was advised the table with 3 women at it had that whole dining room to themselves and we were one of 3 total tables in the whole restaurant at the time. I wanted eggs Benedict however they wouldn't make any substitutions on the eggs Benny which all I wanted was no feta because it's not a cheese I care for. So I then asked for eggs ala cart and to be poached. I was told the chef refused to serve poached eggs in any other way except in their eggs Benny special which really sucked because I don't care for eggs any other way but was very forcefully told I absolutely would not be getting any poached unless I wanted to buy a dish I was clearly turned off by because it had feta. So anyway we ordered espresso martinis which ARE on the menu. They came out looking like whiskey in a glass. That was nothing bur straight vodka poured over ice. Before we even ordered these we asked if they were able to make this drink and was reassured by the bartender that she was familiar with it and yes could make it. It was the sorriest excuse for a martini I've ever seen and I bartended through college so I was very aware as to what it should look like. When we made them aware we were told by her that she actually had no idea how to make one and has never been formally shown how to make drinks. The glass was full of ice and was watered down and tastes horrible. It was in no way a martini and for the money I spent it should have been made right. I didn't want to continue to complain because it wouldn't have changed the lack of training or manners anyone had. I paid my bill, tipped and left and literally walked next door and had a great martin, poached eggs and laughed...
