I’ve always heard bad things about signet owned jewelry stores and big brand jewelry stores but I never experienced it first hand until I visited this store.
I received a lovely white sapphire ring as a gift which was purchased online. About a month after receiving the ring, it became apparent to me that the main stone was loose (it was not only wiggly and I could feel it, but it was actually rattling audibly). From being loose there was dust/dirt trapped between the stone and the basket of the stone. Keep in mind I had not been wearing it daily so it was surprising it came loose after such a short period of time.
I brought the ring to the foley Zales to have the sterling silver prongs tightened and the basket cleaned. The rep there said since it wasn’t purchased with warranty I had to pay out of pocket for both the cleaning and repair. It would cost $90.00. (Almost as much as the gift itself, but I couldn’t do anything about the fact it hadnt been purchased without a warranty and I wasn’t going to call up the person who gave it to because that would be rude).
When I picked up the ring I was ready to pay for services done, except the moment my hands touched it I knew it was still loose. I showed the representatives behind the counter and they swore up and down to me that it wasn’t loose and it was my imagination. They wiggled it and one even got her pen ink on it trying to “disprove” me.
They said they could send it back free of charge so I said ok. But I got a bad feeling and since it had become a sentimental gift I felt like I no longer trusted that store to handle it since I felt like they were lying to me about it not being loose. I asked them for it back and they said yes but they would have to charge me the $90.00. I didn’t want to have a confrontation with them so I paid and figured maybe I should just get a second opinion because it very well could be my imagination.
She swipes my card and is packing it up and I said “I hear it rattling, tell me you can’t hear that! Call me crazy, It can’t be my imagination!”
She held it up to her ear and to my surprise said “yes! I do hear it rattling. You’re not crazy”.
Im dumbfounded!! Before I paid, she said it wasn’t loose, lied to my face, then the moment I swiped my card, she acknowledged it was loose!!! I am appalled. I’m just going to dispute the transaction with my bank now because there is no way I trust the people working there. And I’m going to advise the person who purchased it for me to do the same. I won’t be making any purchases from jewelry stores like this again. I learned the hard way, at least this time it was only $90...
Read moreWe were on vacation and my teenage daughter’s favorite necklace broke, a costume piece she picked out when our Nana, the sweetest woman to ever live, passed away. She has worn it since she got it in 2019, and just needed the little loops holding it together to be tightened. KAYLYNN offered to give it a try, even though they generally play it safe because if they further damage someone’s jewelry they have to send it off to be repaired. We told her we just needed it to stay together until we could get home. She took her time studying the issue and did a beautiful repair for us. She even gave my daughter some advice for going forward to keep the integrity of the necklace and its charm. If you are in the area and looking to make a jewelry purchase, I HIGHLY recommend the Zales outlet and sweet Kaylynn. She exhibits the care, compassion, excitement and integrity one always appreciates in an employee working in the service industry. I noticed some GREAT MARKDOWNS (no joke!) and sales prices on some gorgeous jewelry as we browsed while Kaylynn carefully worked on my daughter’s keepsake. Thanks to Kaylynn’s can-do attitude, her sweet spirit and cheerful and caring personality, we can confidently head back home from our vacation with zero concern of losing something precious to us. Thank you so much, Kaylynn, you did a little something that meant something BIG 🩵 Go buy some sparkle for you or someone you love and be sure to ask for Kaylynn. Everyone deserves an opportunity to be...
Read moreMy husband has bought jewelry here for years, spent lots of money. the one time I need a repair on an expensive ring which has had problems since buying it last spring .I was denied a warranty fix. We were immediately told by the African American women who was working the counter the person who sold us the ring no longer works there and my warranty is no good because I didnt have it inspected every 6 months, which we were not told that when ring was purchased. (The lady no longer there was blamed for our situation)I had it inspected the next problem would have been I didn’t buy a metal protection warranty I apparently only purchased a diamond warranty. Never have I had to have separate warranties for one piece of jewelry. The kicker to this story, the African American lady was very rude to me and very uncaring of my situation, she repeatedly let me know she was some kind of manager there but did not have the authority to help me and I would have to come back when another store manager was there. If the attitude was dropped and she had a better customer service attitude I would not be upset. Get this lady more training before she runs more of your customers off. I will never step foot back in this store(foley Outlet) the people in the mall in Pensacola are much more professional and take care of their patrons. Buyers beware of the warranty offered for...
