Jade Garden Chinese Buffet Restaurant — Restaurant in Foley

We saw their sign outside that the dinner is $7.95 (but we ignore that the price has been ripped off but the past prices are still visible). When we enter, we saw dinner is $9.50. We still decided to eat because we haven't ate any lunch. We look around and there were no hostess to be found then about 10ft away, there was a server signaling us to come so we sat where she pointed. When we grab the foods in the buffet, we are not satisfied. If it isn't bland, the food is so salty. The sweet and sour chicken is very salty. The dumpling I had, the wrap is so soggy (it seems its been in the steamer since the restauran opened ). Fried chicken is also salty. My mouth felt so numb from all saltiness I ate. Lastly, I ate the chicken curry with fried rice, i can't explain the taste but I still tried to finish all the foods I took from the buffet because there is $5.somthing penalty when you waste their food. No wonder the server aren't asking if the foods are alright nor asking if we are alright. She didn't even excuse herself from reaching over across our table while we were sharing our food with each other. Plus (maybe we are overthinking on this part because we are so unsatisfied with the food and service) we noticed that the servers treated the non-asian different. They welcomed them and walked with them to their table and I also heard them offering a refill. When we received are ticket/check, we looked at her because she stood beside our. Table and was writting our ticket/check (we haven't had our dessert yet) and leave it on our table and left without saying anything. The ticket she made was confusing and end up paying the wrong amount in the front (I know it's not a big deal but we just like preparing the money before going to cashier) Also, I forgot to mentioned, there were already straws in the drinks we have. Plenty of choices, hot and mainly fresh (the chicken was hard to chew). Service not so much, had to wait 10 solid minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink. One server was behind the register eating when we came in. Every other table was dirty and had not been bussed. After the third time that a girl came by to say "your waitress has not been over yet?" One finally came and asked what we wanted to drink, no introduction, no apology for the wait, we were not asked if we wanted the buffet or to order from the menu. We went ahead and went to the buffet. We returned to our table, our drinks were there. We never heard from the waitress again. She was around but never asked how we were doing, never cleared a plate, never asked if we needed a refill, and never brought a check. I went to the cashier and advised that we did not have a ticket, he asked how many people, the so called "waitress " shows up at the register to say "they had drinks too". He asked if we wanted to leave a tip on our card, I almost laughed, but told him with her standing there that we did not have any service to tip, she never came to our table, no refills, etc. The cashier said Oh, I'm sorry, I will talk to her. This was just like a joke to them. I certainly will not return, the food was barely mediocre as it was. Right down the street is a much better buffet and the staff actually acknowledge you and are glad...

This place is extremely below average. I go into places with an open mind and an understanding if people feel off or may be overwhelmed. This place was not that. I went in at 11:30am, 30 minutes after opening. The food selection was severely below average. All of the food I got was cold and most of it had a layer of film as if it was sitting there for hours. The teriyaki chicken was cloudy and slimy, the host told me to sit wherever and then moved me after my choice. They have 3 rows for food but maybe a row and a half of food. The only reason I have them 2 stars instead of one is because the krab rangoons were semi-decent. The restaurant looks like it’s barely cleaned, the servers seemed very stressed and unhappy (I understand the feeling but this seemed universal and chronic.), and the air is heavy.

In summary; I genuinely did not trust most of the food available. What I did trust was cold. The servers did not seem happy. The atmosphere was thick and unclean. I hate to say it but I do NOT...
