Costco has stopped carrying many items that I once purchased on a regular basis. The latest items missing from the shelves, Friskies canned pate cat food in the multi flavor bulk package. Also unavailable the last several times I have checked are the pinwheels normally found in the prepared meals or meat area. I also can no longer purchase ZoGuard Plus flea meds for my dog and cat. Another item gone missing, sometime during one of the earlier surges of the pandemic, I believe it was the 5 lb can of Caffe D'Vita Cappuccino Mocha. You can get it elsewhere online at ridiculously more expensive prices. One of the positives at Costco has been the self checkout line, where when you have bulk items in your cart, certain attendees will scan them in for you so you don't have to take them out and then put them back in to the cart. But today, there were two people working, and one person in particular refused to do the scan. I commented to him that it would be nice if we had the ability to scan them in the cart ourselves. He agreed and then proceeded to not scan my items even though I know he has the ability to do so. I had a large package of paper towels, the price of which has skyrocketed,, a heavy plant and butter. I had to lift those bulky items out of the cart to scan them and then I'm forced to put them on the weight table, where there was barely enough room for the big package of paper towels and the plant, next to the register. He just stood there at the end of the weight table watching me. Then I had to pick them back up and put them back in the cart. Since I know that that's not typical, I found it irritating. When the attendant does the scanning the items don't have to placed on the weight table. When attendees assist with the larger items, or people that struggle a little bit to move through the process, it actually moves the line faster when the attendant helps. Other than buying gas at Costco, I'm getting to the point where I'm finding less and less reason...
Read moreThis experience is related to the parking lot. I sat in the car in a space bear the front. There were two empty handicap spots near me. While sitting there, I watched two women push the empty baskets toward the empty handicap spots and immediately turned to walk away without waiting for their baskets to stop. Both times the baskets kept rolling toward my car. While I don't think it was intentional, it is negligent and reckless. I can assure you if either of those basket hit my car to cause damage I would've taken a pic of the license plate number, the car, the driver, person who pushed the basket, etc. and reported the individual who did that. No one should have to endure damage to their car because of the reckless negligence of others. I don't leave reviews a whole lot but decided to leave this one because I saw this happen twice on my first visit to this location. There was a total of 8 baskets in front of the empty space near my car, so this seems like common thing here and thought I'd shed some light on this issue. I'm not the basket police by any means but please be sure your basket is not en route to hit someone's car before you walk away. You can best do this by putting the basket in the designated area but if you must put it in a random space between parking rows or empty spaces, be sure the basket actually stops rolling before you turn...
Read morePoor implementation of covid policy! Beware! First you stand in a line out front. Which would be fine except no one is 6 feet apart. And if you try to stand six feet away the people behind you cut. Then you get to the front where you get to witness the lack of sanitation of the carts. One person pushes the cart while another gives a quick spray of something in a weed killer container but misses 70% of the handle portions of the carts. Inside the isles are crowded and no one can stay 6 feet away while passing. Then you get to checking out. At least 50% of the people were there shopping for themselves as well as someone else in their family who should not go out due covid. The cashiers wasted more time explaining that they can’t do two transactions due to company policy. It would have taken significantly less time to just do two transactions as everyone had questions. Then I witnessed a bagger mouth of to a customer about something that was actually Costco’s fault. Sure you could order online through Instacart and pay higher prices to get poor produce delivered. (Not a reasonable consideration for helping out the elderly who can’t go to the store. Poor form over all Costco! You should be ashamed of yourself! PS - last time I ordered Costco through Instacart one did not need a Costco membership to order. Not sure if anything...
