IHOP — Restaurant in Folsom

Quite disappointed in my experience at this IHOP. Mind you I do not have pictures to back up my experience so any accusations toward the service, cooks and IHOP in general should be taken with a grain of salt, just sharing my personal experience.

Came in today, Sunday 6/23 was seated immediately by the front of house. (Incredibly friendly) taken to the back room where the server I had was working on a large table of 8 or so people. He seemed kind at first but quick. Assumption was he was trying to take care of the larger table. Ordered coffee, water and the bacon Jam eggs Benedict with well done hashbrowns.

Coffee pot and cup were sat in front of me. (Correct me if I'm wrong but servers usually fill your first cup) guess not. He asked If I wanted cream with my coffee.

After a few minutes he was standing, staring at the large table. I asked for his attention to remind him of the creamer. At this point I appeared to annoy him. Okay fine... few minutes later my food arrived. He put it in front of me and said "enjoy your meal"

The food was sorry guys not good. Poached eggs were fully over cooked the hollandaise was broken and the hashbrowns were underwhelming. Toward the end of the meal I noticed a small hair on the edge of my plate covered in grease. Could not tell who it belonged to and I don't have pictures as stated before so please take that solely based on your opinion. Outside of this the server did not check on me throughout the meal and rather slapped down the receipt on the table. I was advised he'd take care of it to which I responded ill take care of it with front of house. Upon walking to the front of the building I was confronted where he toom the receipt from my hand and began running the ticket. I then went and sat back down where he called me over to the station again. I paid with a 20% off coupon. And the waiter stood over me while I tipped and signed the receipt. I was astonished by the terrible service the gentleman and the cooks provided.

Sorry IHOP I've gone to your locations for years I've had good and bad experiences bur never one this blatantly awful. I will...

This comment is about one waiter who is so curt and a bit rude, that we won’t be returning. He is Latino, about 50 years old, salt and pepper hair close cropped hair, uses reading glasses, and he was working the morning shift on Friday, October 16. My elderly father and I have been coming here for about two months now, 1 - 2 times per week. We like the other waiters very much, especially Angelica who has been very kind to my father. But this other waiter is so impersonal and a bit rude (occasionally) he makes us uncomfortable. For example… When the gentleman at the table next to us finished his meal and went up to pay at the front counter, this waiter admonished him saying, “You don’t pay at the front desk. You pay at the table. Go back and sit down.” He said it like he was annoyed and giving the customer an order. I could see the customer didn’t like the way he was being spoken to, and he told me so.

When it came time for me to pay, I saw the waiter change the tip from 15% to 20% on his computer pad, and then he held the pad at his hip and tilted it up so he could watch the screen while I confirmed the tip amount and I signed my signature. Now I waited tables all through college, and so I am VERY sympathetic to my wait staff who work hard. But him staring at the screen to coerce us to give him 20% tip is massively inappropriate.

This was the second time he was behaving weird like this and a bit rude. I don’t wish to take a chance for this to happen again. We won’t...

I went to ihop which is a place I go often with my husband. We got seated in the back near the kitchen away from the window. I asked for hot chocolate and water however when he(K.C) returned my drink look led like it was just sitting back there no whip and barley any hot chocolate in a small cup. I told him I didnt like my hot chocolate and I wanted the new hot coco he never came back with it after we placed our orders we was still waiting on appertezier 15mins later I wanted to leave I make sure he knew I was unhappy. As I walked out I said it made no sense for me not to have received my hot chocolate when you passed me 3xs and said nothing but came back with drinks for others who came in after me. He then proceed to walk after me and asked why I was leaving I stated his work ethics sucks he didnt bring me my drink and passed me 3xs I dont want to eat here. He stated that I had to pay for something I never got brought out to the table or he would have to pay for it. Just unprofessional not an apology for anything I would not be out of line to say he came off racist because that's what his actions displayed....
