Terrible experience at this theater, young worker came into the theater during the movie and told my husband and I we could not have outside drinks even though the ticket purchase counter, popcorn counter and ticket taker did not say a word when we walked in with our cups from the restaurant accoss the street and purchased a large popcorn at the counter with our outside drinks We have brought drinks in before and were told by the workers that it wasn't a problem, it was no big deal (we have been coming to this theater since it opened probably a couple times a month). A young man came into the theater walked up the stairs to our seats in the middle of the row in front of customers all around us and told us that we could not have drinks from outside. I told the young man I had to take my medication and he stood next to me while I took my pills he then grabbed the cup out of my hand. He wanted to take my husband's drink, but he went to talk to the manager and I told him he would have to wait until my husband came back because he too had to take medication as he had a heart attack, was recovering and on medication. When my husband returned, he took his medication and went out during the movie to throw away his cup. Then, the young man came back again about 20 minutes later to see if my husband still had his drink. When he did not see the drink, he confiscated some food that an old man with a cane and his Asian wife had, they were sitting next to us in our row and had brought in some type of food in her purse. I could not believe my eyes this happened during the movie it was like Nazi Germany!!! This theater should be ashamed not only picking on us, but on elderly people that probably could not afford to buy items at the snack bar. When we walked out of the theater the same young man came as we were walking out and I told him I was not happy with his intrusion especially taking food from an old man with a cane and his elderly wife. He told me to "F" off. Very unclassy, I was in shock. I told the workers at the ticket counter on our way out and my husband talked to the manager who said that since they served beer and wine they can't have any outside food in the theater. Well, should they not tell you when you buy your ticket, buy popcorn with drink in plain site, walk through the ticket area, drink in plain site. Rather wait to the movie starts and harrass you while you are sitting in the theater. I have never, ever experienced anything quite like this, they should be put out of business for this behavior. If you are going to patrioize this establishment, think twice, you may be treated the same way if you happen to put some candy in your purse, next they will have a pat down and dig through your purse and any bags you may have before you can enter the theater--I am sure this will be their next tactic as they seemed to enjoy harrassing us as well as their eldery patrons. BOYCOTT THIS THEATER, THEY ARE NOT WORTHY OF YOUR...
Read moreI'm a big fan of films and enjoy going to the theater often. I have gone to the Palladio several times over the years and I do enjoy the recliners and popcorn. It's easily accessible , the staff are always pleasant and the restrooms are usually very clean.
BUT we go to the movies for the films and the Palladio is the absolute worst of the bunch in the area. They are using old projectors and they aren't properly calibrated. The resolution is absolutely horrible by using these older projectors.
Let me say first off before I dive into the below comments, I go to the Palladio because my wife and daughter like the recliners and that is why I still every once in awhile still go to the Palladio.
We went to see Spiderman : Homecoming and War for The Planet Of The Apes recently and the image was extremely dark and the clarity was murky on both films. There's no sharpness to the image. This has been my experience with every film I've seen at the Palladio. I went to Century Folsom 14 to view both of those films again and the picture quality is night and day better. The clarity, the brightness and the resolution is incredible. Why is that ? Because they have updated projectors running at 4K and have also updated the screens.
When at the Palladio while in it's premiere large screen auditorium check out the screen, they enlarged it by attaching more pieces to it. While the movie is showing you can clearly see where they have attached the new pieces and it's absolutely distracting.
I challenge everyone to go see a film at the Palladio and then see that same film at Century Folsom 14. You will be amazed at the difference in image. Palladio at the moment is by far the inferior viewing theater in the area. While I enjoy the Palladio's recliners and popcorn I'm going to the theater for the movie. The presentation by old projectors , old screens and projectionists who don't know how to calibrate keeps me from this theater being my first choice.
I actually spoke with the projectionist after Star Wars The Force Awakens, which several of us moviegoers complained that the image was extremely dark and he responded we put new bulbs in them. ??? It absolutely ruined my first viewing of this film on opening night. Not to mention it was in 3D so the already dark image just made it worst. You couldn't even make out Kylo because he just faded into the dark image.
It's time for Palladio to update its projectors and screens. As of right now Century Folsom gets my money for the best movie experience when it comes to...

Normally, we go to Palladio Luxe but thought we'd try the Palladio 16 for DBox seats for Jurassic Park. No hot food was ready for a 1215 show, we were told to wait 5 minutes... but 10 minutes later we got to watch concessions staff give our pizza away to someone who just got in line. They did all these renovations at Palladio 16 for concessions and built some sort of order pickup area that seems to be a total waste of money since they dont have any apparent system in place to fulfill orders. No sincere apology or offer to make it right, just told we can wait another 10 minutes (after movie starts, and after already waiting 10 minutes) or get a refund. We got the refund, which sucks since it was lunchtime. You can't just bring it to our seats? It was your mess up. There was plenty of staff behind the counter and its not like they are filling sodas since that is self serve now.
Had to hunt for our theater because our tickets said Theater 21 (which doesn't exist). Employee sitting on a chair who somewhat gave impression that their job was to be scanning tickets (but people were just blowing past them because they were not engaging with anyone or scanning tickets) let us know that we were supposed to be in theater 8... they told us their system didn't know how to schedule theaters correctly so it makes stuff up. Wonderful.
We finally got to our DBox seats and there's still popcorn all over them from the previous show... so it wasn't a surprise after the movie when we saw the state of the bathrooms, which looked like they hadn't been cleaned from the night before.
Was our experience as bad Lincoln's visit to Ford's Theater? No. But my suggestion would be to charge less than $50 for two tickets and go without the several employees I saw today who didn't want to prepare food, clean, or greet customers because my experience would have been no different if they were out sick. Better suggestion... just go...
