Deseret Industries Thrift Store & Donation Center — Local services in Fontana

I'd like to First say that I was very impressed with the management, he went over the top in customer care. I wish i knew his name, the entire time i was there i heard him walking around telling his employees how great they were and what wonderful work they were doing. The woman in front of me in line had mentioned she was homeless, the manager heard this as he walked by the register, stopped and told the woman she didn't have to pay for the items of clothing, he then proceeded to walk back towards the store and invited her to gather some more clothes. I had tears in my eyes, it was so nice to see such a kind hearted person doing the right thing. I donate a lot of items to the goodwill and i sometimes get a bit upset that they charged so much, but this store has reasonable prices and to see that donations are distributed to the people in need at no cost changed my thought process on thrift stores. No more goodwill for me...Deseret Industries is where ill be donating and shopping from now on. Went for years to support. Then had bad experience. 8/10/19 Poor customer service. Came in went straight to helmets as my son needed one picked 2 helmets went to register the clerk started looking at me like a tattoo freek then said oh! Something wrong here and started picking at price tag as if it were relabeled and then had me stand there while she convinced someone that it was not right then set it on the floor as if I would run out with it. The helmet was a 5 dollar helmet in my opinion. I payed for other one then asked to see manager. Was told no one available for you sir. I called and after some time Dave the assistant manager got on with attitude. By better security! Do something to fix your problem. I am a common customer at this thrift store as well as a few others directly near by. This store has a huge selection of whatever it is you may be looking for plus a ton of other stuff that will catch your eye and interest. The prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and the store is always clean and organized. As for the dude that gave them a 1 star rating because they were mormons, I do appreciate your honesty and also appreciate you not having anything to do with them because that means one less dude to compete with in finding hidden gems in there! I am not sure exactly what religion the church is, but amen to these bargains!
