Pelagic Brewing Public House — Local services in Forest Grove

I finally got around to stopping in to try this place. I was a big fan of Ridgewalker brewing, and love the location. I ordered the steak bites and a Powerhouse Dry from Bull Run Cider. I'm happy Pelagic Brewing is still partnering with some of my local favorites. The steak bites were great, tender cuts covered in a nice demi-glace, served on a bed of fries. The fries were actually my favorite. I don't know if it was the demi-glace from the steak, or something else. But I kept going back to the fries for another salty hit of umami goodness. It was almost too much, I needed respite, something to counter the steak bites. I found it in the tart and dry Powerhouse. A perfect balance to the rich and hearty steak bites. Next time I might order the steak bites as an appetizer to share, and try more...

This taphouse was right in town as well as its local brewery, and I was told I had to try it.

One, it was a very clean and family oriented environment. It reminded me of a ship, and it was very cool.

The head brewer was there and was as knowledgeable as they came. He knew every flavor profile like the back of his hand was very friendly, and so was my bar tender!

I had the... Yankees clipper IPa (light with smooth hops) Christina's docking juice (light and smooth) Seven seeds midnight blue dragon (sweet, one of the best ciders i have ever tried)

For lunch I had... The Grove Panini (Cured ham, arugula, gruyere) which is a simple dish but was excellent and tasted fantastic, was served with chips!

Pelagic Brewing just reopened in the old Bridgewater Brewing building. The interior has lovely old wood paneling and huge tables made out of sawn logs. There's a big patio with heaters, and they're building another. There's also a Foosball table and a tether ball outside for the kids. There is a large selection of beers and six ciders. I can't attest to the food because we only had fries but the menu had sandwiches and salads and the prices looked really good. A 16 oz brew is $6.50. We're always looking for places where we can ride our ebikes and bring the dog. We could park our bikes...
