-December 21,2022: VanDyke Appliance (Forest Grove, Oregon) received $1,999.00 for the purchase and installation of a new Frigidaire Induction countertop stove at my momās house.
-2.5 weeks Later: The Fridigaire Stove stopped working, It was beeping and flashing error code āE22ā VanDykes advised us that because they were book beyond a month we should consider having The Appliance Hospital repair it. Appliance Hospital came in a few days and ordered 2 parts to repair the stove. A month later Appliance Hospital informed me they were unable find or take delivery of the ordered parts. Appliance Hospital advised I call the Fridigaire Company for resolution. Frigidaire sent a technician to diagnose the problem and ordered two computer board - another appointment was scheduled a week later for repair.
When the technician arrived (between 8am to 12pm) he installed the parts but could not get the appliance to operate. The technician told my wife that maybe it wasnāt working because he dropped it. After a couple of hours the Frigidaire service abruptly ran out saying āIām outāa hereā and said over his shoulder āsomeone would return next weeāk. He advised we bag up the parts he left on the counter as he couldnāt figure out weāre they went after reassembling the rangeā¦. I later received a text, indicating that they rescheduled an appointment for the next week (3-3-27-23)
-Installation was December 21, 2022 and today is March 21, 2023.. we still have a $2000.00 paper weight on my momās kitchen counter.
If there is such thing as an Appliance HELLā¦.I have inadvertently stumbled through its gatesā¦
I will seek the advice of an attorney as to retrieving momās $2,000.00 and request an additional settlement demanding that those responsible submit two thousand dollars to charity and remove the cooking appliance from their residence for a period of at least 95 days..
..I truly wish this whole continuing nightmare could have been avoided or mitigated within a reasonable time frame.. ā¦my patience is gone
At some point very soon I need to accept that two thousand dollars has been stolen from us and find my mom a cooking appliance. For the past 3 months we have been transporting meals from our homes or local restaurants..
AS FOR VAN DYDES APPLIANCE: *Although a working stove would be the ultimate goal, a family owned busing is impressive. As people, the people in the store are genuinely friendly and seem to ālike peopleā. That itself is a truly unique and valued...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeware! Van Dyke Appliances refuses to admit that they could ever make a mistake. My brand new Bosch dishwasher broke down. It was not purchased at Van Dyke Appliances, however, after it broke down, I called Bosch to inquire about repair since it was still under warranty. Bosch provided me with a list of companies that could repair my dishwasher, and I called Van Dyke Appliances since it was one of the closest options.
I was greeted by a pleasant person and they apologized that it would take some time for them to get out to repair my dishwasher. It was Dec. 8th when I called and they had an appointment available for Dec. 30th. I told them no problem, and went ahead with scheduling the appointment. Dec. 30th comes and no one shows up to fix my dishwasher. I call Van Dyke Appliances, and I am greeted by Becky who goes on to tell me:
After this very confusing interaction, I give her the benefit of the doubt, and I end the call. Still confused, I review the call logs on my cell phone. On Dec. 8th, I only have two phone calls made:
I then call Becky back, because I now have the proof I need to be certain that my appointment was scheduled through Van Dyke Appliances on Dec. 8th. I am greeted with a very hostile Becky this time, who assures me that Van Dyke Appliances does not make mistakes because they have been in business for over 40 years, and accuses me of lying about scheduling the appointment. I inform her that I only called one repair shop and I have the call logs to prove it. She continues to accuse me of being mistaken, and that Van Dyke Appliances does not make mistakes. I ask her if she can at least check who was working on Dec. 8th, so that the person that I scheduled the appointment with doesn't make a similar mistake in the future. She flat out refuses, and continues to be defensive.
Obviously, I'm disappointed about now having to wait longer to get my dishwasher serviced, but I did not need the insults to my intelligence from Becky on top of that. Please avoid Van Dyke Appliances, unless you enjoy being insulted and doing business with a company that claims they can...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI purchased a Maytag Wi-Fi wash machine and dryer for around $2200 as well as a microwave and the frame kit that goes with it. The first person I talk to he had an attitude like I really donāt want to be here. I then talked to Becky who apparently is the owner sometimes she was nice other times she was moody not something I want to have to see on my end. They were nice enough to put a loaner washer in my home with a new dryer. Although when they brought the dryer it didnāt look brand spanking new there was a few surface scratches on it and I paid for brand new the owner finally admitted it had been sitting on the floor for a couple weeks and I said well thatās not really brand new in the box and she said well we will just come pick it up and give you a refund. I donāt know who operates in that manner but I found it unprofessional. I ended up just keeping the dryer as is because it sounded like I didnāt have much choice. I measured the microwave as she requested to get the right Trim kit etc. this trim kit does not fit in properly I asked her if I can return the trim kit because Iām not using it and she said no sorry we canāt return it Iāve never heard of such a thing. as much as I would love to help local business if it was Loweās or Home Depot they wouldnāt have a problem returning something that was brand new. I finally asked her if she could go halfway on the return she said sure but you have to bring it in. I threw it in the garbage. And I thought if Iām bringing it in I should get a full refund. Iām just done dealing with them at this point. And then the owner had the nerve to say to me weāve gone above and beyond for you. Which is far from the truth. As much as I want to help local businesses probably will go to Home Depot or Loweās next time. Never once did they thanked me for my business or act appreciative that I did come to them. Instead she said she went above and beyond. I realize there a third-generation business but that is no excuse for not giving the utmost best service especially when youāre competing with big box stores that are doing everything they can to put the small guys out...
