RE; Endorsement and recommendation. Chris Cecil is a "one off old school". A great guy with a great mind. Chris' experience is vast and effective. You may refer to his bio. I produce live events and operate an in home production studio in the middle of Wyoming. I also perform keyboards, harmonica and vocals varied live settings. Tech support of any kind here is limited if at all.. I came to Chris a while back in need of repairs of my KORG D3200 digital work station....(5_7yrs ago) He interviewed me thoroughly and with diagnosis that made sense. The repairs were performed as expected and with great success. A little time passed and my Korg M50 keyboard started to lock up repeatedly and unexpectedly and of course made it impossible and unreliable for live use and inconvenient for studio use. I took it to Chris and again I was interrogated as to symptoms and characteristic failures. He made a plan for researching the problem and gave me options for budget, updates, re boots and specific physical chemical treatments for internals etc. Wow. He brought not one, but two of my beloved M50s and my "go to" work station back into full service restoring my confidence in the gear that I prefer and require to be successful. I think that many of us love the gear, equipment and instruments that we use, often daily. We like what we have and we spent valuable time learning it, even making a living with it. We don't care to run out and buy new stuff, often with failure rates and learning curves of their own. You get where I am going.
Chris is a great guy and fun to visit with. He has treated me well on multiple occasions and is fair, square and reasonable when it comes time to pay. If you can relate with that special amp or instrument that you really need or really miss having in your arsenal then don't wait any longer! Make an appointment with Chris and get things back to normal. I appreciate him so much and I am glad he is here for all of us. Thanks Chris! Sincerely, Chris...
Read moreI certainly have to admit I’m new to the world of tube amps having played guitar for 20 years now and have finally made the transition from digital to analog equipment. That being said I’m going through some learning curves through trial and error. He serviced a Ceriatone JM100 amp I bought second hand that I was running through a attenuator, knowing what I know now probably pushing it too hard out of the gate. Honestly though, what else are you going to do with these things when they’re advertised to do a certain thing when in reality it’s not a perfect world and there are limitations. However, some of these things I may not be able to completely escape living in an apartment. I will more than likely make more mistakes and need more repairs or maintenance on my Amps. Chris’s expertise is that of a dying art form and it’s not easy finding some with this kind of knowledge base an expertise in this area. Even through conversation with him I’ve learned a lot of what to do and what not to do with tube amplifiers and caring for them in a practical sense. I would go as far as to say we’ve built a rapport that’s bridging into friendship and I thoroughly enjoy the conversations I’ve had with him. Luckily Chris does have the patience as well as the passion to share his knowledge. I will say, this man has a massive workload and is a one man army to achieve his projects for his many clients. He will get to you and take care of you, even if you may have to just shoot him a message or call to give him a friendly reminder. He’ll take care of you and I’ll back him on that 100 percent. He’s gained a loyal customer and as I have bought a few more tube amps since my first that I had him work on and this amp in particular I’ve been in talks with him to make some modifications on soon, I will be continuing my business with him from here on out. Thank you Chris and I appreciate the time, effort, and care that you’ve clearly put into your craft over the years to become the skilled technician that you are...
Read moreI've owned a very nice pair of Tannoy System 600 monitor speakers that have been damaged for about the past 20 years. I was told by many speaker repair facilities that they were irreparable as Tannoy has been out of business for many years and getting replacement parts is practically impossible. I found this to be true as over the years, I tried to find a replacement speaker for one of the units and I have never been able to accomplish that goal.
On a whim, I called Chris Cecil at Cecil Electronic Systems / Global Touring -Factory Level Pro Audio Repair & Supply and he told me to bring them in and he'd have a look. Not too long after I brought them in Chris gave me a call and informed me that he had done some repairs to the existing faulty speaker and that it was totally functional again. I could hardly believe my ears but, I picked up my speakers, brought them home, plugged them into my system where for the longest time, I had no monitors to use during recording sessions. They worked perfectly. I was positively elated.
Although Tannoy is no longer in business, there products have been held in high esteem and to have them functioning in my studio again is truly a gift. I am extremely grateful to Chris Cecil and his incredible expertise. These speakers have been dormant for at least fifteen years and, although I've spoken with many speaker repair companies, none of them gave me any satisfactory satisfactory recommendations as to a solution to the problem. Every one of them wanted to use generic parts as well as make alterations to the speaker cabinet to accommodate the dimensions of the generic speakers.
I highly recommend Cecil Electronic Systems and consider Chris and his company a flagship in the Fort Collins area. Anyone outside of Fort Collins with any electronic issues should also consider shipping their components to this company. I have all the faith in the world in Chris's abilities and I'm sure you will feel the same way when you receive your equipment back with perfect...
