Andy does terrific work. We inherited an antique settee and matching chair from my mother-in-law in the mid '80's and they had the original velvet fabric from when she owned it. Over the years we lived with them, but from having cats, and day-to-day usage they needed a new lease on life. I felt embarrassed by the way they had become over the years. We procrastinated over many years to have them redone. So we've past Andy's store many times while going to through Ft. Lee to Edgewater, and decided to commission him to redo our loving family pieces of furniture. It took many months to find the right fabric to keep in character of our furniture, and learn about velvet fabrics, and how they would endure over the years of usage. Finally everything was in place, and Andy used his loving skill to reupholstered our pieces to their original glory. Not only did he do the upholstery, but re-enforced the wood frames, and refinished the color of the frames too. This is now the second time I’ve had furniture reupholstered at Master Upholstery and the workmanship is incredible. They took furniture that looked old and tired and turned them into chic and sophisticated pieces that look brand new. Andy is a pleasure to work with, he’s very professional, friendly and responsive. I wouldn’t take my furniture to be reupholstered anywhere else. I’m an interior designer and have worked with many upholstery workrooms over the years, but none have had the kind of attention to detail that Master Upholstery has. RIP OFF PRICING! Went to this upholestry shop to replace 5 foam seat cushions. The worker there said he called his boss and the boss said it is about $1,000 . They attempted to charge me nearly $1,000 or $200 for just the seat cushions alone, NOT the backing for foam cushion replacement, not for any repairs and tried to use an excuse of we have to "order" the foam. I told him I could by a new chair for less than that! He thoughr it was funny, I did not. Shop around there are MUCH better prices with excellent quality.
