I am very disappointed at this restaurant. Myself and my husband have been going to this restaurant for years. As far back as 6-7yrs. I don’t know if the ownership changed but the food quality have decreased overtime. Even the simple kimchi is nothing to write home about. Aside from that, we received a very bad service today. I came in there with my spouse and 2 kids and we placed our orders , I ordered noodles for my 2yr old son and I specifically asked them if it was cold noodles, the staff said no that it was hot, so I said ‘ok because we don’t want cold food’. She said sure. When my food came out, I noticed right from when she was coming to my table that it was a cold dish, so I asked her if the food was cold, even before she dropped it on the table. She said yes, I told her sorry, I don’t want cold food. I would rather you show me the hot food in the menu so I can order something else. She started having a fit saying ‘oh you’ll have to pay for this’, ‘do you want us to waste food’ , ‘tell me who is going to eat this food you’ve rejected’. They went ahead and placed the food on the table beside us saying we have to eat it or pay for it. As this was going on, my spouse was in the restroom . He came back and I told him what happened. He went ahead and said we should back up the other food they’ve brought to the table and let’s pay then leave. This same staff came out with other staff saying ‘oh this is a Korean restaurant so I don’t know what you expect’. I am still trying to figure out what that statement mean but I’ll give her benefit of the doubt. My husband went ahead to pay at the front desk , lo and behold , they added the Bill for that dish I rejected. You won’t believe my husband had to go back and forth with them for minutes before she took it off the bill , and she was just speaking to him in a high tone and giving attitude swinging her head back and forth. I just sat down at the table and watching as I tried not to even say anything since I was so upset. She claimed the manager was at the back because she was also going back and forth to the kitchen but not once did the manager come out to speak to us about this altercation. That says alot about his business

In summary, this restaurant is not as good as it used to be. The food quality, the customer service is zero. I will not be coming back! I will tell my experience to everyone who I introduced to this restaurant and they will not be coming...

Today was the first time I’ve left zero tip in 44years. This is how it went down... Went with my 78 year old mother and her friend. One of the worker who I think was the manager, denied us of our entry because my mother’s friend forgot to bring a mask, even though it was outside dining and people were dining 3feet away without a mask. We were eventually allowed to enter because she was able to get a mask from a store across the street. I guess my mother and her friend really wanted to dine here. It took them 10minutes to take the order. Another 10minutes to bring a cup of hot water. When a waitress finally came to take our order, we ordered a sul lung tang, two orders of dho gha ni tang and su yuk. Su yuk came out first with no plates to put it. No soy sauce, no Kim chi. At least we had chop sticks, spoons and napkins I guess. Tongue and tripe(not sure the name of it) turned out to be uneatable. When complained, one of the waitress told us that she will replace tongue and tripe with briskets. Sul king tang came out 30 minutes later. Requested take out containers 3 times and didn’t get any. Only got it when I went up to pay and requested again. The manager did apologized blaming it on one of the worker not showing up to work. I say no excuses considering there were only 10 tables the most with a manager, 2 waitresses and 1 bus boy. Gammeeok used to be one of my favorite place to visit since the mid 90’s at 32 street after a night of drinking. It is sad that I won’t be returning anytime soon. Please get your s**t together so that I could return and enjoy your...

I was looking to a place to eat, in k-town with a friend, when we saw this place. The of Gammeeok is located in the second floor, and the place is pretty big with a great and friendly staff, is a great option if you are looking for a good soup.

I order the Dogani Tang; is a soup that is make with beef knucklebones and the surrounding meat that is boiled until the meat becomes tender. The tender meat is served in its broth to be seasoned with salt and pepper with rice on the side. The soup came with a lot of beef tendon in bite-sized chunks; the taste was not that flavored but the meat was so tender that melts in my mouth. Great option if you dont like spicy food.

My friend order the Soggi Gukbap a spicy beef soup server with rice made by boiling beef lef bones for 24 hours and then adding spices, beef and bean sprouts. He found it very good because he loves spicy food.

We also share the Mandu; minced meat and vegetables that filled dumplings are steamed and server with a mixture of soy sauce and vinegar, where you can dip it, both of the mandu were good.

Ps. Thanks to the staff that holds on to my glasses until the next day, really...

Overall, the food isn’t bad. However, the change in the serving size is absolutely disappointing. I’ve came to this restaurant four times this year and ordered the same dish every single time. The last time I came was August and since then the serving size decreased by half. It is noticeable at first sight. Barely noticeable amounts of cheese and meat when that was one of the important parts of the dish. When I asked the worker, all he said was that I possibly got more than normal serving size in the past. How is that possible when I came here multiple times and it was the same size until now? I have visual aid for people to see by the way (the right is the reduced size). Anyways, this all wouldn’t be a problem if they decreased the price but the price still stands strong.

I came here happy to see it in passing while I was shopping at Hmart in Fort Lee bc I used to go to the one in Manhattan with friends and family for years before it moved to a 2nd floor location in K-town. So I came here to enjoy the classic Solong Tang (beef bone broth) dish and Yuk ke jang (shredded beef in spicy broth). The kimchi was good. But that’s the only side dish that came w my meals. And the scallions weren’t all fresh. There were some old wilted ones in the mix so I tried to avoid them going into my soup. But the Solong Tang was good besides that. The good thing about the Fort Lee location is they have a parking lot as it’s hard to find parking to eat out in Fort Lee sometimes. So having a lot makes it easy to eat out in the Main Street area.
