Extra Space Storage — Local services in Fort Lee

I had two exceptional interactions with that staff here. On both occasions, they were able to meet my expectations in a friendly, helpful and professional way. What great customer service.

In my first encounter--for the life of me, I cannot recall the lady's name--I came in at the 11th hour needing a unit quick since I was driving to Texas the next day. I felt terrible coming in when I know all she wanted to do was shut down and leave for the day. But my destress didn't phase her and she was able to get me a tour and a unit promptly.

In my recent encounter, I had forgotten my keys back in the city. It would have taken at least an hour to drive back to grab it. It wouldn't have made sense time and cost wise. The other option was to cut the lock. Peidad and her manager, John, were both readily available to help, even though they had never cut a lock before themselves. Since other staff members that had experience cutting locks were not available, they took up the task. They warned me that it may take 45-60 mins. About 10 mins later, I was in my unit. Such an amazing job, teamwork and customer service.

These are the type of people that should be appreciated. They know how to treat people like people. And that's few and far between.

We were tenants years ago with Extra Space Storage ( it was a different name). Alex Lozano was the site manager then. She was always friendly and had a warm smile. Alex left a powerful impression on us. We need storage space again. Without hesitation we returned to the Fort Lee site that Alex managed. To our delight Alex is still the site manager. It was like getting the band back together after a long hiatus. I give the facility a 5 star rating for many reasons: Property is well maintained. State of the art surveillance monitoring. Long hours of availability 7 days a week and holidays. Recently renovated and updated lighting systems . Nice music piped in through facility. Packing materials plus on site for convenience. My favorite is the 3 bay drive in loading dock. You are protected from the elements and your property is protected.

This facility is run by a top notch team in a state of the art storage facility.

My review is two parts: 1 ) my experience dealing with the people at Extra Storage in Ft. Lee and 2) dealing with corporate/website.

Been storing with Extra Storage for over a year. Noticed my monthly rent was doubling, so called and asked if there were any other bins at a lower price. Arther was great. He gave me several choices and had me booked in another unit, a little smaller but big enough for my stuff at half the price. Moving in was seamless. I moved my stuff to the new bin, which was reserved for me. After moving my stuff went to the counter and transferred my information to the new unit. Arther was great and very professional. Five Star Experience

Now dealing with corporate/website. Tried to login into my account. Was on the phone with IT for an hour. No help. They said they will have to look into why I could not login and it would take more than a week. Their IT trouble shooting was useless. I hope I can login into my account soon. Zero Star Experience.

Again, I would give Arther and Extra Storge 5 stars. Corporate/Website 0 stars. So the combined is 3 stars. I would definitely rent with Extra Storage in...
