TLDR: A little family run spot in Fort Lee. Think your classic steakhouse with a slight Korean twist. Shrimp cocktail. Skirt steak. BYOB - you're welcome.
To be honest, the first time I tried Prime & Beyond; didn't love it. We tried it again and we've really gotten to like this spot. Really the only thing that gives the hint of Korean is they have kimchi fried rice on the menu as a side and you get a scallion salad with your steak.
They have pretty classic offerings but the shrimp cocktail is what stood out. First, these are huge - so bouncy and perfectly cooked. While most are just kind of poached in salt water, these are pre-seasoned which makes them quite unique.
Steaks. We've done the dry-aged cuts which they have in a case when you walk in. These are great but the "go to" has been the skirt steak. It's quite sharable for two hungry guys or three normal people. It's pre-sliced, super tender with this nice sauce they make. I typically have leftovers which go great on noodles, thrown in a fried rice or just eat it at room temp the next day.
Plus I get to bring some nice bottles of wine and it's really not too much damage on your wallet. If you're in the area, you should 100% check this place out.
Snapple Fact: They wholesale to a lot of your favorite KBBQ spots around town. They...
Read moreGot the osyter appetizer (New Brunswick, Canada) and dry aged ribeye for two with fries on a Sunday night. Called ahead in 6:15 for a table at 6:45. First thing to know is that traffic going from Leonia on Fort Lee road is super jam in that time of the weekend due to weekly road diversion and traffic going to George Washington Bridge, so manage travel accordingly. The restaurant was half full when we got there at 7 and we were seated right away. The oyster is smaller than I am use to but tasted pretty good actually. The steak came about 20 ish minutes later. The cut was a bit meh, more tendon and fat than I expected from a ribeye. For 150 dollars I expect a bit more part of the steak to be the flavorful tender meat than chewing thru tendon. The crust was good, and its served with roasted garlic, with salt and sauce on the side. Its weird to say but the straight fries were indistinguishable from McDonald's - thin with some crispy short one. I happent o like McDonald's fries so I was okay but I definitely felt like we paid 9 dollars for a dollar fries 😂. The whole thing came to 251 dollars after 18% tips. Staff were all helpful and friendly. I might come back for the bacon and bone marrow that I didnt get to try, but overall the price point...
Read moreTook my wife here for her bday dinner earlier this evening.
the vibe when greeted to the second we left, always made us feel welcomed. Music was a great taste for us personally. The ambiance is quaint and a very personal type atmosphere. They gave us some complimentary lemonade with our water (huge points here as its the little things in life). The chef and owner came to greet us during our meal, and we felt that was a great personal touch. We been to the big name steak places, and you wont get that type of love there that you do here!
Now the food. We had the shrimp cocktail, mushroom risotto, and french onion soup. All were great, but this mushroom risotto was amazinggg! My wife and I kept talking about it, until the steaks came out!
I got the ny strip, she got filet mignon and lobster. We also got sauteed mushrooms, creamed spinach, and fries and the steaks were so flavorful. So flavorful that I focused so much on eating my steak that I barely touched the sides but still great. However I was there for the dryage steak.
Overall, we have a new steak place and its even closer to home! Also feel good to help local NJ businesses during these times! Great job...
