This place is hiding something in their food! I have a nut allergy, and I have eaten from this place twice and have suffered two allergic reactions as a result of their food. The first time was about two weeks ago (May 16, 2020). I ordered the vegetable lo mein with a side of fried rice. The fried rice was fine, but when I ate the lo mein, I could feel an allergic reaction coming on. I stopped eating it, however I suffered from a minor allergic reaction all night. I woke up the next morning and I was fine. Fast forward to tonight (May 29, 2020). I decided to eat from this place again, figuring I had just had a bad experience last time. This time, I ordered the sesame chicken, fried rice on the side, and an egg roll. The sesame chicken and fried rice were fine. However, as I ate the egg roll, I felt another allergic reaction coming on. I stopped eating, however the reaction continued to progress. I am writing this review in the midst of my second allergic reaction as a result of this place’s food. Congratulations, Joyce. I will NEVER eat from your restaurant again. You guys need to review what you are putting in your food. One day you are going to cost someone their life with your failure to inform the public of what you are putting...
Read moreI USED to love this place. But today they literally gave me hell. I ordered a simple shrimp lo mein with white rice and an egg roll. They finally get to me and there is NO white rice. I call back and they’re trying to rush me off the phone, “you’re order is on it’s way”, without even letting me talk. When I explain to them the reason of the call right away he says, “I’ll send someone now.” We hung up and not even 30 seconds later he calls back and says, “we looked on the camera and we put the rice in there.” First of all, are you seriously fighting me for some white rice? Second, I KNOW you didn’t look at a camera in less then 30 seconds. I even explained to him how I literally took everything out of the container onto another plate to make sure and he kept saying “it all combined” lol UMMMMM NO! I know what rice looks like. Therefore you get this review online and every time someone asks...
Read moreAfter a long hiatus, partly due to covid, we ordered some food from Joyce. We were pleasantly surprised to find there has been much improvement to the taste of their food.
Especially to two of our favorites: Steamed Wonton in Spicy Peanut Sauce and Roast Pork Chow Fun.
The spicy peanut sauce had a nice acidity, thick enough and well balanced. We literally wiped the remaining sauce with bread, delicious!
The flat rice noodles were not overcooked, chewy as they should be, sauce was not overly sweet and there's just enough oil to ensure the chow fun not sticking to each other.
We will definitely order...
