I cannot recommend The Hanbok enough! I went through Jasmine and The Hanbok team for my mom and mother-in-law's hanboks for my wedding. The hanboks were absolutely stunning, and both moms received so many compliments from family, friends, and other guests on the wedding day.

Jasmine and her team are so knowledgeable and talented - they helped customize the hanboks, so that it was perfect for each person. My mom had a specific color and design in mind, and Jasmine was able to bring my mom's vision to life. My mother-in-law was wearing a hanbok for the first time, and was not familiar with styles or colors that would best suit her. The Hanbok team guided her through the different styles and colors recommended for the summer season, and together, they designed a beautiful hanbok. Most importantly, both moms not only looked amazing, but also felt amazing, and there really isn't a better feeling than that :) Whether you've worn many hanboks in the past or you're looking to wear one for the first time, Jasmine works with you to create the most special hanbok for your occasion.

Such a beautiful and easy experience. My mom and I were very impressed by the shop and the traditional hanboks present. Both the owner and her assistant were very sweet and made picking my custom and my son’s custom hanboks easy. It was truly a learning experience as well. My mother is Korean but my father is European American- I have not had a hanbok since I was a child. My son was turning 1 and I wanted to throw him a traditional Dohljanchi thus needing his first hanbok. We ordered his first and picked the colors based on the event colors. When I tell you there are so many options- but she knew exactly what we were looking for and made it so easy to choose. The turn around was about 3 weeks for his hanbok to come in from Korea. My custom hanbok I was a little worried as Korean women are petite and thinner- years ago plus size hanboks did not exist. But now they do as more people from different cultures are wearing hanboks. She didn’t make me feel like I was chubby or like I would not fit into the hanbok etc. (I say this as my experience with Korean women tends to be that I’m too big for their clothes etc) and she help me choose the best and most flattering for me. Especially the colors are timeless. I would highly recommend if you are looking to get a hanbok in NJ. Great experience! My financée and I went for a fitting and were welcomed warmly and right away even though we showed up half an hour before our appointment. Jasmine and her assistant were very efficient and encouraged my future bride to try on both styles of wedding garb to see which she liked best, as well as allowed me to take pictures.

Our being a mixed couple caused no issue or concern , and while I was prepared to speak what little Korean to them that I knew, I felt plenty welcomed and not pressured to in order to fit in as the entire appointment was conducted in English.

Jasmine helped us decide when the best time during our reception for Paebaek would be and was very concerned about planning it in a way to make sure it wouldn't get boring for our non-Korean guests. Her very high confidence that everything would be no more than 30 minutes also showed us she was experienced.
