I Love Hamrick's. I worked there when I was in my late teens and loved it then just as much. The only issue I have ever had but have regularly is PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE SALE PRICE AND HOW YOUR ITEMS RING UP!!! I was there for a gift just this weekend and the sale price was $12.98, at checkout it was $29.98.. Of course this is not the cashier's fault and she had it confirmed and corrected quickly. The fact it is still an issue on almost every trip causes me to worry for the older trusting customers that I see there shopping. Those that may not watch closely as their items are being rang up. It feels like bad trickery since I have seen this regularly for 20+ years of shopping here. I love everything about Hamrick's but the fact you must be so vigilant at checkout. Great prices, items, gift ideas, and friendly staff. Just pay attention when at checkout!!! It is worth the trouble but bothersome to me for other shoppers that may be distracted at checkout and end up paying original price for what they think they are getting a deal on. A nice place for spending a whole day looking to see what you can find, and still being so much you have not seen yet. Seriously now, you will find more clothing and other items than you can think of, all at attractive discount prices. But it is, really, gonna take you the whole day. I was looking for flannel shirts they were advertising, I saw a hunger loaded with them, not what I wanted, moved on, and there was another hunger full of (different) flannel shirts. I spoke with an associate, and he told me where one more, third hunger, would be at another spot. Three different spots, instead of all hungers next to each other. I was planning on buying one, the low prices sold me two and I was still well within my budget. I am not the shopping type of guy and saving money while wasting time is not actual saving to me; they even out. A couple of times I left my wife shopping and walked out. The store is well stocked with about anything you could possibly need. All of the employees were awesome, except for 1. It was our cashier. I don't know her name but I was buying a shirt, sunglasses and some pretty crocks. I've had surgery on both my feet and they were hurting bad. So that's why I was buying the crocks. She had everything rung up except for my shirt, no price tag. So this awesome lady went to get the price. Well I was going to put the crocks on, my money in my hand at the time. This cashier said "NO NOT UNTIL YOU PAY FOR THEM". And she reached over took them away from me and put them next to her on the counter. I hope I never get her again. But all of the others were great.
