Go if you like spinal compression fractures:
Went here on Jan. 28, 2022 with a group of friends. I had a blast until one of them literally broke her back. Near the end of the night one of the members of my party accidentally bounced into an area of the park that was undergoing maintenance. It was a 7 foot concrete pit! Mind you she was jumping on a trampoline, so she didn’t fall from ground level, she fell from several feet ABOVE ground level. To be fair, there was a small plastic chain over the entrance, but my friend easily cleared this when she was double bounced in that direction. We’re estimating that she fell a distance of at least 12 vertical feet in total.
As a result, she suffered a spinal compression fracture that left her in a back brace for 8 weeks. When the injury occurred none of the teenage staff knew what to do, so thank goodness she had friends there who could take her to the emergency room. Not before a well-meaning employee offered my friend her hand and attempted to help her up, however. Word to the wise, if you’ve suffered a spinal compression fracture DO NOT MOVE, it’ll make things worse. In hindsight we should have called 911 and waited for the professionals to put her on a stretcher, but neither we nor the staff knew that at the time.
I wish I was making this up, but my friend is now half an inch shorter and very familiar with her local physical therapy center.
In the interest of fairness, nobody wanted my friend to fall into a 7 foot concrete pit. It even had a little chain and sign. I would argue however, that at a trampoline park, it shouldn’t be possible to do so. Laws of entropy kind of dictate that masses of bouncing people will eventually land in untended places. I shouldn’t have to spell out the need for safety nets or protective barriers to the owners of a trampoline park…
Aren’t there building codes for this kind of thing? Thankfully the victim this time was a 21 year old with fully developed bones. I shudder to think of the consequences if a child had fallen that distance.
Edit: the first picture shows my friend standing in front of the pit a week after the incident. The 7 foot drop had been covered with a red tarp. Notice how dark the area is? The second photo is a clearer view of the pit, and my...
Read moreIt was fun until I broke my back! I had fun at this park until I fractured two vertebrae of my spine! Long story short, there was an (unguarded, uncovered) foam pit which I jumped into in the dark, naturally, thinking it was safe. As I was in the air I realized there was NO foam in the pit and the ground was concrete. Between the height of my jump and my fall, I probably fell a total of 12-15 feet (the pit was seven feet deep… I measured later on.) I am only alive by the grace of God alone. I could have died. After the injury, an employee stuck her head over the edge of the pit and asked if I was ok. I could barely speak. I couldn’t move. She offered me her hand and attempted (unsuccessfully) to pull me out. (Back injury 101… NEVER move the person.) When I finally got out, the employee kind of just walked away and nobody at the park followed up, gave me ice packs,or called 911. My friends took me to the hospital. The result of my injury was two fractured vertibre, eight weeks in a back brace, three rounds of physical therapy, and almost complete immobility for the first few weeks of the injury. It was the worst experimence of my life. I came to the park with friends a week or two after the incident to see the scene of the crime, measure the pit (why not) and see if it was filled. It was still empty!! There was a girl guarding it who told me just that day, a little boy got back there and she had to rush to get him out of the area before he fell! I recognize that this story is comedic. I mean who falls into a pit? But I just wanted to warn everyone about this place. It’s unsafe, the staff is not trained in injury prevention or recovery, and when I contacted the owners later on, they gaslit me and said it was MY fault. They said the had a video of a staff member telling me not to jump and me doing it anyway (funny, I don’t remember that happening. Why would I PURPOSELY jump into a pit). Don’t worry! They said no I could NOT see the video, hmmm. They also refused to help me with medical bills. It should NEVER be possible for someone to fall in a seven foot deep pit with a concrete bottom. If you or your kids go here, please be...
Read moreGreatly disappointed in visit. We visited on December 26th weekday and the park was not extremely busy. We highly considered a membership but I wanted to give it a try before making a year long commitment for 3 grandchildren. When we first arrived the girls wanted to ride the Zipline. The two older ones rode twice and the youngest walked up but got scared and didn't ride. After playing in the park for a little over an hour they decided to go ride the Zipline again. The sign stated open and the two boys were sitting playing on their phones. When we approached they stated that the girls had already rode three times. There is a sign posted for zipline - three rides per child. Despite the fact that the two older ones had only rode twice and youngest had not rode at all, the employees initially refused the ride and called us liars. I agree when busy this would probably need to be enforced however with not a person waiting, I am not sure this is a good business practice to pay employees to be lazy and rude. The lady in charge did come back to speak to the boys which I greatly appreciate but at this point it was uncomfortable and confrontational. They did end up riding three times each after discussing with supervisor. If working in a children's playground, one would expect enthusiastic or at least happy employees not rude boys. The boys seemed malcontent with their jobs and would rather get paid to be on their phones. Our granddaughters were just trying to play and have fun. After the incident, I would have preferred to leave but we still had 45 minutes left. The other issues seem to be maintenance related. The vending machines not working, the paid lockers not working, women's bathroom needs some repairs, largest jump seems to be losing air, a handrail broken without a sign just to mention a few. I am so glad I did not sign up for membership because I prefer to spend my hard earned money where everyone is happy to be working. I refuse to pay for rude people. The front desk staff were nice and trying to rectify the problem even though it was not them. Very...
