Quality groceries and produce for half the price. I used to be a regular Publix shopper and I still visit there for items they specialize in, but for my regular grocery needs Aldi is my first choice. The produce is superb; you can get a quart of strawberries for as little as $0.99 sometimes. Everything is fresh and the prices are reasonable.
I would suggest staying away from their knockoff hummus and Gourmet items, but their meats, dairy, and coffee products are well worth the cost. Cereal at Aldi is half the price you would find at Publix. My first visit there I calculated in my head the cost of my items based upon Publix prices. To my surprise, it was half the total I had expected it to be. Don't sacrifice quality for cost give Aldi a try. Save-A-Lot is disgusting I stay away from there you can always find quality items at Aldi without having to buy food that has reached it's expiration date.
The only negative about Aldi is that some of their items are not there consistently. For example, they had a really good almond milk coffee creamer that I really enjoyed and next time it was gone. Their pizzas are also really good but once again sometimes they are not available.
While shopping the aisles, look around for spare empty boxes you can use to bring your groceries home in because they don't provide bags for free. I always forget to bring grocery bags what's $0.06 for a paper bag that I can use for recycling is well worth it. Also, most of their vegetables are organic for little or no...
Read moreNOT just this Aldi, but BOTH of them in FT. Pierce. This review has nothing to do with service, etc, but with PRICES ! as in UP , more & more -sometimes on a weekly basis ! and Definitely on a monthly 1. in fact, i was JUST THERE 2 DAYS AGO, and 3 items were priced HIGHER THEN WALMART, FOR THE EXACT SAME THING ! i have noticed this trend- rising prices- since the merger w/WD. and Many items, are only a few cents- negligible- below WALMART- who has been trending DOWN, Not up, on prices. IF this pattern continues, my rating for Aldi, will drop from 3 stars to 2- then 1. People shop @ Aldi because either A. they want some kind of exotic European food- which isn't cheap, or B. Tight budget, and need to get the maximum food value- or just plain food, for their buck. And , unfortunately, the "B" reason, isn't happening any more @ Aldi's , its sad to say. Well, like i am sure we all are aware of " Corporate greed- aka record profits", while "us" , the consumers get whacked at the checkout register, and the bigger the Corporation gets, the more we get "sticker shock" when we try & buy food. This "merger" Aldi / WD. is the perfect example of that. Unfortunately. Simply &...
Read moreMany items at good prices. I like the large selection of cheeses, can even find Stilton, and the ground beef is good quality. Occasionally one gets used to a product and it's never seen again, however, plenty of items to keep us coming back. Seems their produce has gotten much better.
Another trip to Aldi and most of the shelves were almost empty. Probably because of the recent hurricanes. But scored red grapes for .99 cents a pound and they're good and firm. And the stilton after months of not having it. Got some frozen paella individual entrees, we'll see what they're like for next time. Red grapes $1.79 lb and no grape juice this time.
More and still no stilton. Another stiltonless visit but a great deal on grapes... again. Many items. Check it out good savings for off brand quality items.
And again with the grapes and shaved beef for Italian beef. Alternatively, Buono brand Italian beef with gravy is available.
Stilton is illegal...or so it would seem. However still plenty of deals and unique items. Eggs are usually a good value being less than the...
