I purchased my kia carnival in August of 2023. That part was easy. In January I started having issues. The switch to the driver seat wasn't working anymore making it very uncomofortable. Then my back hatch began to go out, causing a ntoification that my door was open while driving. I couldnt lock my car or the horn would start beeping. I scheduled an appointment for Febuary 2nd. 3 hours of waiting they said they couldn't fix it at that time. I paid over 300 for a diagnostic fee and an oil change. The service technician told us we would have to wait on the part to be ordered and they would get us back in. I was given 2 weeks estimation on when the part would be in. I gave it 4 weeks with no call or word about the part. I called myself and the service advisor said "let me check with parts" put me on a long hold and then came back on the line and said "yep we have the part." So I myself scheduled the appointment for April 5th. I put in PTO for thr day because the two times before we had been there it took over 3 hours for nothing to be fixed. I went in on April 5th at 10:00 and sat with two babies for approx 3 hours or more. They couldnt fix the hatch, had to order parts again, but after that they told us it was ready to go. We got the babies ready and got in the car and the seat wouldn't move. My fiancé went up to then and told them the seat wasn't fixed. My children sat in the car screaming while we waited for an answer. We ended up driving off. I got a call 5 mins later from the service advisor saying that he didn't sit on his phone all day so he didn't see the text they could fix my car. He said his manager gave them to ok to come pick up my car for the repair and to drive it back. I have asked if I can have a replacement vehicle for the time as I have 5 xhildren. I work fill time and pay for a warranty and have burned so much gas, money, and PTO trying to get a switch and a hatch fixed. The service advisor said they couldn't do that for me they didn't have any rentals or cars to be able to do that....
My car sat in the parking lot for over in hour untouched each time it was there. I came in for my appointment on time.
This has been the WORST experience in my car buying experience.
I had a bad experience at an oil change place and they refunded my money, these people do not care and do not have any customer service skills what so ever. My car is still not fixed. It's been 4 months.
Edit to add: you all are real weird. My hatch was covered under my warranty so you charged me 300 for an oil change and tire rotation. I never told you how many kids I had until this review. I simply asked if i could get a rental for the THIRD attempted repair, so it's weird to assume I can't fit all my kids when it wasnt asked how many i have. I was straight told, you had no rental cars. My hatch nor my seat was fixed the first time. Came back a second time and was told it was fixed and the seat WAS NOT fixed. We had to stop and find someone to tell you that it was not fixed. We were made to assume after waiting it was ok but the hatch would have to again come back to be fixed. So yes, you did offer to come pick it up, but denied me a replacement vehicle, leaving me with NO vehicle. I do return calls or texts but you all respond after 5 days or more when it's convent for you. You all really are failing in customer service , communication and taking accountability big time. Another follow up. My car was dropped back off and I was told the seat was not fixed again. So I said it was working and your response today was "it was a temporary fix". Never made aware of it...
Read moreMixed Review. Let me preface this by saying that my wife and I bought two vehicles from them, and each time, the experience was the same. You would think they'd realize that you just bought a vehicle the day before, and they would give you a "hassle-free" experience when buying another vehicle the next day.
The bad: Whatever algorithm their website uses to predict your trade, monthly payment, etc. seems off. Each time the monthly payment presented at the dealership was around $200 more MRC than expected. They told us it was an "AI" issue. My trade, which was valued at just over $9,000, appraised at $6,500 because of some minor dents to the wheel and scratches. Yes, the car was 9 years old and had a bit of exterior wear, but not $2,500 worth (I took really good care of it and kept up on all maintenance). Second, the finance process was terrible. My wife stated very clearly what she wanted to pay per month, and each time they presented options of $200 MRC than what she wanted (just do a Google calculator for what your payment should be...it's not hard). They wouldn't run her credit to give her a realistic rate, which impacts (good or bad) your MRC. We walked and a day later they were magically able to make the numbers line up. Their sales manager, Herb (sp?), finally intervened and everything worked out. When I went to purchase my care it was the exact same experience. I finally told them this was ridiculous and I would just like to leave. Suddenly they "remembered" that I had just bought a new car from them yesterday and made the numbers work out.
The good: Jackson, our sales rep, was amazing to work with. He admitted that he was new to the job, but if he didn't know an answer to a question, he looked it up. He took a lot of time explaining all of the features and showed a lot of patience when we test drove multiple vehicles; each time asking lots of questions. The sales managers, once involved, were able to make everything work out as well. The interest rates (we both have 800+ credit scores) were really good as well. They also had a good amount of inventory on hand to look at. They were even able to get my wife's vehicle options upgraded from a small SUV to a mid-size (Sportage) for the same price.
Overall: The salespeople, and sales manager(s), seem to be effective at their jobs. The finance piece, and maybe the sales managers control that too, was just a nightmare. I don't understand that either because the hour or two they waste with their customer, haggling on price, only to magically make it work out, seems like a waste of everyone's time, which costs them and the customer money.
If you want to buy a Kia and want a dealership that has a lot of inventory on hand, with sales reps who are pretty good, go here, but be prepared to spend an hour or more battling back and forth about the finance piece of the deal.
Side note - I don't know what the deal is with the survey that they want you to take, but that was nuts (I think Kia, not the dealership, expects a...
Read moreI ordered a custom built vehicle. I was willing to wait several months for the vehicle to be built.
When I spoke to the salesman he told us our interest rate would be 4.5%. We got to finance and they tried telling us the interest rate would be 7.5%. After a discussion and threatening to leave the dealership without purchasing a vehicle, we were able to get the 4.5%.
My custom built vehicle was delivered. My vehicle was delivered a month earlier than they had estimated, but the vehicle was missing some of the accessories that were supposed to be on it.
I had the dealership order the missing items and schedule installation.
I received a phone call from the dealership to confirm my appointment the day before my car was to go in to have the accessories installed.
I took a day off of work and dropped off the vehicle and then returned several hours later to pick it up.
When I picked up the vehicle I was told that not all of the accessories were delivered so not all of them had been installed, so I would have to return to the dealership again to have them installed when they arrived.
Why was I even there if they did not have all of the parts that were supposed to be installed? Why was I not told that they didn't have all of the parts until I picked up the vehicle?
They also gave me incorrect information regarding the paperwork to title and register my vehicle. That has now become another nightmare to deal with.
In summary, I ordered a custom vehicle that was delivered to me incomplete. Finance tried to gouge me. They wasted my time with an appointment to install some of the accessories that were missing, but not all of them and I am still waiting for them to be installed. I also can not title or register my vehicle because they gave me the wrong information.
I will never purchase another vehicle from a Bob Rohrman dealership again.
One star is too many stars. If I could give them zero stars, I would.
Today I have an update. It is July 22 and I am just now getting the puddle lights installed as I write this. The dealership forgot to order the puddle lights for my car. I have been waiting months for parts that they never ordered. I had to call and ask about the status of the lights and I was told that the lights had never been ordered.
Overall, I am very unhappy with my experience. I will never purchase a vehicle from a Bob Rohrman dealership again. This may be the last Kia that I ever purchase as well.
It is now November 19, 2022. The Wolf Grey paint color is terrible. It gets scratched by EVERYTHING! after the snow the other day, I have noticed the front bumper and hood are covered in chips from road salt hitting the front of the vehicle. Every time the vehicle is taken out of the garage it gets chipped from something like a feather falling on it. I'm pretty sure that a microfiber towel scratches the finish as well.
Kia's Wolf Grey...
