No starts at all if I could ! Went to kids empire today to take my two boys to play. Spent 50 for them and there socks for my oldest and myself, even tho I wasn’t going to be playing. Fine what ever. Waiver said nothing about it and I clearly have a dress on.
Fast forward about 10-15 minutes and my oldest has type one diabetes and I told him he needed a juice. He came over had a juice. Went back to play. About 5-7 minutes later he’s 63 and dropping. Which isn’t good. So I YELLED for my kid and YELLED juice. So he knew what was going on. Both of my kids come to the table that we are sitting at and my oldest gets out two juices bc that’s what I told him he needed to do. While I’m on the phone with my mom, and trying to get my card out so I can get my youngest a drink from this place. The manager BEHIND the counter YELLED hey you can’t have those juices in here. There wasn’t a question if hey did you know that you can’t have outside food and drinks in here? Or him walking over to have a private conversation. It’s loud and we are in a kids facility. The kids are screaming and having a good time. So I YELLED back letting him know that I can have the juice in the facility because my son has TYPE ONE DIABETES and JUICE is a MEDICAL NECESSITY. He asked me to lower my voice. We are in a kids facility we’re at, it’s loud and full of kids most of the time. Mind you he never said he was sorry and he never stated that he understood. The next words out of his mouth was that WE needed to leave. Mind you we have been there for 20 minutes and I just paid $40 for my kids to play endlessly. So I pack our things to leave and my kids sugar is 53 and dropping and it’s almost 90° outside and we have to leave an air conditioned facility because my oldest needed juice and he didn’t wanna accommodate him. So as we walked back to the car I have my youngest kid crying, my oldest is weak and ready to get sick. I should have told him that we weren’t leaving until my oldest kids medical condition was where it needed to be. But I didn’t fight him and I didn’t want me and my children in a place that they aren’t welcomed with their disabilities. We WILL NOT be back, EVER. &I WILL get to the bottom of it. &I will be contacting Jefferson Pointe to make sure they do support kids with special medical issues and...
Read moreI just came from taking a walk around Jefferson Pointe. After reading many of the comments here from the past month, I would encourage the reviewers to go back to Jefferson Pointe now.
I will be surprised if at least 5 more stores are closed before Christmas. Bed Bath and Beyond's stock price has fallen by about 50 % this year. You can find news stories that point to the the likelihood of many of their stores closing by the end of the year.
I do agree that the outlying restaurants are good places to eat. I've seen comments about some of the business across the street in the Apple Glenn shopping area. I can't consider them as part of Jefferson Pointe Mall. I also saw some comments about how good the Friday night concerts were/are. That's great that you like those events and like the movie theater, but I'm guessing those events and businesses don't generate much income for the retailers in the mall.
I really hope the development company can get the mall turned around and fill those empty retail spots. I can't think of any(?)/many(?) retailers that are expanding the number of their locations. Most of the stores there are "high end" retailers that I'm guessing attract limited foot traffic and sales. If lower price point retailers would fill the 15 empty store spaces, I'm guessing a lot of the stores left there now won't like it. Would that cause their branding to be devalued(??)
Any way, I do feel badly for the businesses left in the Mall now. Hopefully opening a street through the center and making parking close to the stores will generate more foot traffic and sales. Those remaining stores need to have that construction completed before this year's Christmas shopping season takes off. Best of...
Read moreAs a Fort Wayne local, Jefferson Pointe has always been one of my favorite spots to hang out, shop, and grab a bite to eat. There’s just something about its open-air layout that makes it feel more relaxed and inviting compared to your typical indoor mall. Whether you’re here to run errands or just spend a leisurely afternoon, it’s hard not to enjoy your time at Jefferson Pointe.
The variety of stores is a big plus. You’ve got your major retailers like Target and Von Maur, but there are also smaller specialty shops that make it a bit more unique. The mix of big-name brands with local and regional stores makes it easy to find whatever you need, whether it's fashion, home goods, or gifts. And if you’re like me, it’s hard to resist a quick stop at Bath & Body Works or grabbing a new book from Barnes & Noble.
One of the things that stands out most about Jefferson Pointe is how beautiful it is, especially in the warmer months. The landscaping is well-kept, with nice walking paths and fountains that add a peaceful vibe to the whole experience. It’s a great spot to take a stroll, especially in the evenings when the lights come on, and there’s a bit of a community feel with families and friends milling about.
And if you’re looking for food, you won’t be disappointed. There’s a nice selection of restaurants—from casual spots like Panera Bread to more sit-down places like Biaggi’s. I’ve had plenty of lunch dates and family dinners here, and it’s always been a pleasant experience. Plus, the movie theater at the Pointe is a great way to round out a day of shopping or make it a full date night.
Parking is usually easy to find, which is a huge perk for locals who don’t want to deal with the hassle of crowded lots. And even during busier times, the layout keeps the place from feeling congested.
All in all, Jefferson Pointe is a go-to destination for Fort Wayne residents who want to shop, dine, or simply enjoy the outdoors. It’s a spot I find myself returning to again and again, whether I need to get some shopping done or just want a laid-back day out. If you’re local, you probably already know what I’m talking about—and if you’re visiting, it’s definitely worth...
