I had an opportunity to visit Pita Way in Jefferson point for lunch and I thought it was an interesting experience. I enjoyed the food that we purchased and I would go back again to try some other options. I totally went into this visit intending to get all of the toppings that were unique to me. This included the Torshi, Tabbouli, and Pickled Turnips. Go ahead and ask them about the toppings. We had absolutely no idea what we were doing when we went in there and they were happy to explain the different toppings to us and even give us a taste to help us figure out if we wanted to put them on our dish.
In my case I chose way too many pickled items in my dish and I'm not sure that it was the best choice.
I got the bowl with a rice base, gyro meat and a bunch of toppings. I liked it. It I thought the garlic and regular hummus choices were very good. I got the white Pita sauce and it complemented the dish and the toppings very well.
My daughter got the Sandweech which is a wrap. She got chicken, both the garlic and regular hummus and toppings of her choice. The wrap is assembled and then placed on the grill to make the wrap slightly crispy. The wrap was very tasty and again the white pita sauce stood out. I would say the best thing about the wrap was that it was perfectly thin and provided just the right amount of crispiness when biting into the wrap. When you bite into it. The pita basically disappears and allows you to experience the toppings without the interference of a thick wrapping.
We made one of them a meal so we could experience one of the sides. We chose the fire fries. It's a $2 up charge to add the fire part to the fries and that was okay because it is a Chipotle sauce. We thought the fries were very good. The coating on the fries was hot enough to build up over the course of the dish. I don't think I would make that same choice again because it was just too much food. We weren't able to finish the fries because we were concentrating on our main dishes.
The only reason the atmosphere is a three is because it's just your standard fast food used-to-be-Chipotle's-dining-room experience. It was clean and well taken care of and well stocked.
I recommend giving this place a visit if you're feeling like a little...
Read moreIf you are sick of the normal GMO SAD (Standard American Diet) Please don't do yourself an injustice by passing this GEM up! I mean I was craving fresh, different, unique, and most importantly I wanted to feel good about the decision I made with the money I spent for the product. 1st off it's very clean! Located in Jefferson PT Mall. The menu is easy to follow! Meat choices are lamb, chicken:dark/white/ fried or you can do vegetarian or Falafel. They have bowls and Pita wraps. There are plenty of fresh ingredients and hummus to choose from with fries and sorts as sides. All the food is Hala! Meaning real food so real ingredients! If you like places like Panera then you would love Pita Way. If I had to choose something to complain about it's the drink options. I would like real juice as a option. Also some of their menu items aren't customizable so make sure you ask 1st so you won't pay extra for adding on items not included. Your taste buds are going to thank me later 😏 So far I can add pickled cabbage and dill pickle sauce to my pallet. Don't forget the red sauce! I'm sure I missed some items but go check em out! They're fast courteous, and knowledgeable. I've been 2x during the day and B4 they were getting ready to close. Ours is open 10:30am to 9PM M-Sat and on...
Read moreMy wife told me to bring gyros home after work. I normally would have gone downtown to King Gyros, but I figured I'd try the new place. They have gyros on the menu after all. This review is based solely on a like for like comparison vs our go-to.
When I ordered, I was asked if I wanted a bowl or a wrap and what I wanted on it. I said to make it just like a regular gyros you'd get from every other place. I was met with blank stares. So I had to tell them what is on a gyro. Hint... hummus isn't on that list, yet that's what I'm advised to get 🤦♂️.
My order included only 2 gyros with double meat. Nothing else. That came to $35 😬.
When you Google gyro pita, the description includes the words soft and fluffy, which is what I'm used to getting. While the pita we got was good for what it was, it wasn't soft and fluffy. Overall our food was good. Maybe another meat would have wowed me more. The problem is, the price will make me think twice about coming back to find out. Based on the gyro vs gyro comparison I'll continue to go downtown for...
