DeBrand Fine Chocolates — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

The chocolate is tasty, certainly better than Russell Stover (and there is nothing wrong with Russell Stover, mind you), but the prices are bordering on absurd. Each Christmas, I will purchase a few of DeBrands' 14-piece samplers for work colleagues. At $30.00 a piece, it's a bit steep. I nearly fell over when i realized i was paying hundreds for chocolate. I don't recall exactly what I paid last year, but this years purchase was a shock. I also recall last year that the sampler came with a card that told you what the chocolates were. This year, they've downsized to a business card sized insert with a QR code you have to scan to learn what the different varieties are. Really? The clerk said they were being environmentally friendly. Hmmm, with the amount of packaging they wrap these chocolates in, they should focus elsewhere if they want to save the environment. Despite what this clerk said, we all know it's about increasing their profit.

So if you want some tasty chocolate, and you don't mind splurging, go for it. But it...

We had the best experience at this location! We’re in town for a few days visiting from Atlanta and we had planned to do the factory tour, but we put the wrong location into the GPS and it worked out exactly as it was meant to because this location has Marc! Marc was so patient and helpful. He took the time to explain the differences in the types of chocolates available and offered tons of insight and helpful recommendations based on our preferences. We ended up getting an assortment of chocolates from each case because they all looked so good. We didn’t make it out of the parking lot before trying one of the truffles we picked out 😅

We definitely know where we’ll be going for gifts if we move here. DeBrand is lucky...

I first tried these chocolates via ordering some for Valentine's Day, as my wife shared hers with me. I got her a truffle collection and they were fantastic!

Stand outs were the peanut butter, as well as the raspberry. Highly recommend those two truffles.

We were in the area for an errand so when we found out this store was just down the road from our stop, we were very happy!

The store is quaint and stocked with all kinds of goodies. Staff was helpful and boxed up our selections for us!

They are priced pretty reasonably, especially the truffles which are huge.
