Let me start by saying this: It's been years since I've gotten my nails done and I wanted to treat myself to some self-care. My first stop on the list was a nail salon and after reading the reviews for Luxx, I knew I wanted to give them a try. I visited them on a weekday afternoon and was greeted right away. There was practically no wait to be serviced either. I shared with the nail tech that it had been years since I had my nails done, so I drew a picture (yes I'm extra) of what I wanted on each nail since I wasn't quite sure what to ask for. NUNU was my nail tech and assured me that my request was very simple & easy to execute. I had no specific request as to what materials were used, but I did want my length at a natural•ish level. After asking for them to be shorter, the nail tech "suggested" I keep them longer to make my fingers appear slimmer. I still felt they were too long for me and my professional life, so I asked her to cut them down again, and this time she did. She decided to use color and glitter acrylic for my nails and a gel polish for the designs. She was a bit rough with the filing, but overall nothing too bad. My cuticles weren't clipped with a nipper, but were filed off with a nail drill which caused minor cuts, but again, nothing too bad. After completing my nails, she showed a fellow nail tech to ask her how much it should be (even though I had already filled out a form upon check-in and was quoted an amount.) The two briefly discussed in their native language and she shares the new price with the lady who was completing the check-out. I'm not sure if my lack of experience caused me to be ignorant, but I was extremely surprised to learn that my nails were going to cost me $75.00. I didn't want to be THAT person, so I paid and tipped without questioning them, but I didn't walk out feeling as if my service was worth that. I'll try to post my exact receipt shortly, but I learned that the designs on my 4 fingers were an additional $25. It was $5 for the shape and $45 base for my acrylic nails. My cuticles didn't receive any oil, but maybe this is something I needed to request myself. Again, I'm not sure how this generally works. I had such high hopes walking in and was disappointed that I didn't have the full experience I was expecting based on other reviews. Again this was my experience and I'm sure sharing my ignorance of the process with the nail tech (Nunu) didn't help. I may be willing to give someone else a shot someday. Btw my photos were taken about 10 minutes after receiving the service, so you can see the finished look...

Sadly, their racial profiling has cost them a customer. I booked a party of eight a week in advance. I called the day prior to the appointment to verify the appointment and confirmed it was good. Only six of the eight ladies showed up and each of us received our own nail paper to complete, to show what we wanted done. The first issue was, there was no assistance in completing the paperwork needed for our nail assignments. So once we were all in chairs and getting our pedicures, the second issue arose when one of the young ladies had to wait for her pedicure after receiving her nail service. Once everyone’s nails and feet were completed, the final issue arose when I, the one who booked the appointment was questioned multiple times about who would be paying what. This came after several individuals had already heard that I would be covering my nails along with the bride’s nails. Once I was at the front to check out, I was questioned yet again concerning who would be paying for what based on eight ladies showing up. I had to advise the receptionist that only six of the eight ladies showed for the appointment as we already established…at that point I was frustrated . I advise them that it felt as if I was being accused of stealing services from them. They attempted to appease me by apologizing and saying that was not their intention. However, by this time it was too late. I advised them I would not be returning and that I was responsible for them receiving six ladies or six potential customers, but they had just lost one. My last comment with this low review is that although my nails did come out OK, and my pedicure was great at the end of the day poor leadership in the head of a business will unfortunately trickle down to the workers and no one wants to feel accused or feel as if they are robbing someone when all of their intentions are only to come and relax and enjoy a meal service if the if the company cannot accommodate larger parties, they should not advised that they can take the appointment from the beginning I will not be returning to the nail shop, and I would advise if you have a large party that you...

I NEVER leave reviews but this was my second time in this establishment and I left even more disappointed and frustrated than the first time. They over charge for EVERYTHING! My first time in I got charged 5-10$ for shaping my nails into a regular square shape! 😂 the total for 2 fills and a 47$ pedicure no designs no extra work came to 180$ .. that should tell you how much of basic things you will get charged for. I went in again because I wasn’t able to make it to my usual place and thought I’d try giving them another chance .. this man started doing EXACTLY what i wanted! Same as the pic I said I wanted this color on my nails and toes.. then stopped and took it off because he said it would ‘take too long’ and gave me something terribly different than what I wanted! Then tried to get me to do a different color on my toes when I specifically said i wanted them to match before the service even started! And I said no, why would I get different colors because the chrome powder on my nails that he used would be 90$ on my toes.. if that was the case you should have never put it on my nails and just used silver paint if that’s what you were going to try to do on my toes! To sum it all up I left with nothing I had asked for except the pedicure. I had settled for white toes because I have things to do I have no time to sit and argue with these people all day going to a salon getting nails and toes done is a luxury and should be treated as one. Your establishments made my experience everything but relaxing and enjoyable. Do not go here. Just make that drive to your...

On Sept 5, 2025 at 9:00 AM, I came in for an appointment but was placed with Lee. When he finished my nails, I calmly told him I didn’t like them. I wasn’t rude or loud—I simply said something didn’t look right. Instead of offering to fix them, he cut me off and told me: “Go to another salon and let them do your nails because I’m not doing them.” At the front desk, in front of a packed salon around 11:30 AM, he told me again: “Don’t ever come back here. And if you do, don’t ever ask for me, because I will never do your nails again. So just go. Leave,” while shooing me away with his hand. I said “okay” because I refused to make a scene. I later called the shop in tears to speak with a manager but was told the manager was on vacation. A staff member apologized, admitted Lee had no authority to put me out, and offered for me to return with someone else. But why would I go back when Lee has likely already told his side to his wife (who also works there), creating an awkward and hostile environment? I tip generously and was calm and respectful the entire time. As an African American woman, I must emphasize that, because we are too often unfairly labeled as “difficult.” That was not the case here—the way I was treated was the problem. This experience was disrespectful, humiliating, and felt racially motivated. I will never return, and I strongly encourage others to spend their money where respect, kindness, and professionalism are guaranteed

I walked in as a first timer with no appt, was greeted immediately and directed to sign in. The services offered with prices are displayed directly behind the sign in sheets. I was told it would be about a 15 minute wait and was escorted to a chair with a book of polishes to choose from. I've always been told to grab a polish myself but this option was so much better! I chose the pedicure 'Dreamy Paradise, Lavender' priced at $67 which would include a shoulder massage. Kathy was my tech and she was really sweet. She did the massage portion first and I felt great afterwards. I really appreciate the fact that it wasnt rushed, Kathy took the time to be meticulous in each step of the pedicure. It was my first time getting a jelly pedi so that was fun. The aloe/scrub part was the best. Never had a piece of aloe used during a pedicure so it was cool and refreshing, and when paired with the scrub it felt FABULOUS! Everything down to the efforts to clean up any imperfections at the end was awesome. They do use a white coat of polish before the selected color so there might be a few spots where the white polish can be seen but nothing extremely noticeable. I will definitely return and request Kathy again. Excellent job Luxx Nail Salon!
