Updated 7-5-25. This is still the rudest Costco in northern Colorado. Thornton and Ft Collins are not like this and wished they were closer. Why Longmont? You should be happy that the store is busy tall blond at the self checkout told us to go to checkout 2 but 4 was empty so we went there and the people next went to 2 no problem at all but she gave us the biggest attitude. And then when leaving heather was so rude to the customer before us when leaving and then when It was our turn we had 6 items in our cart but receipt said 5. When we try to help to figure out what was extra item was we ask to look at the receipt to help and she pulled it away and said will you let me do my job! Wow!!!! she made us feel like we were stealing something. Again we are executive members why would we steal something. I spend thousands of dollars every year. This rudeness from this store has gone on so long when will it stop. We go to Thornton now at times because of this but we live in Longmont. Why are a lot of employees at Longmont Costco so rude? I have been a member for 24 years and this is the rudest Costco. Not every employee is rude but a lot of them are. The was a supervisor in the tv section that was super rude and did not want to help his name tag had supervisor on it. I don’t want to say a name in case I get it wrong. Shawn ended up helping us and was super friendly and very knowledgeable. The employee Peter tall Spanish man shoulder length hair is always rude he is at the door checking membership most of the time and just seems rude every time we come in. I’m an executive member so I come in a lot. This last time I was walking in to drop my keys off about two weeks ago and he stopped me and said what am I doing and I said dropping my keys off at the tire center to get new tires $1300.00 and he said very rudely you can’t do that you have to go to the other side and go through that way. Again he is always rude.I watch him as I was going through the other side and he did not say anything to two other people that walked to the tire center. So he’s not very consistent. So i went out got a cart so I didn’t have to go out again after the tire center to get cart to shop and then get carded again. I had push cart through busy registers to get to the tire center and then push the carts back through the registers to go shop while they did my tires. Costco you need to do something different at this store. When I went to write this review it seem like there were a lot of other reviews about employees being rude. It also just seems a lot to get carded at the door and then at the register and then at the door leaving seems to get very frustrating some days to shop here. I love Costco but the card policy and some people at this store need...
Read moreUpdate: yeah i starting to dread going to this location , its as if the managers said lets hire the most snobbish elitist staff with a sense of superiority that make their prejudices as obvious as possible.from the sample alemployees at least 2/3 of them and the staff all seem with the same pretencious attitude and snobbery. Jordan at the cash reguster provided free facial expressions of dissaproval effortlessly and perhaps unkwowingly in her nature and instinctively. Nobody is asking for your charity or approval but it would make sense that if you work in customer service at least put forth the effort to do the job your'e getting payed to do while leaving the attitudes and prejudices at home or elsewhere.
Perhaps theres not much diversiry amongst their staff, I have known of others working but quitting perhaps thats the work environment they promote too keep it as such.
Original review: Had been a while since had been to a Costco and actually shop.
The store is fairly new and seems clean and well stocked. For the most part was having a great experience from the greeter to the person that eloped me out with the membership.
I strolled around and initially seemed the main issue were the customers. Which I'm not putting on the store. I immediately seemed apparent customers are not too courteous navigating the aisles. Individuals that seem to be in a rush while getting flustered moving their carts in the left side of wrong direction. Even in stores believe should keep a sense of direction to avoid bumping to others around corners. That alone was just the first impression besides the "high MakaMaka" demeanor most customers and some staff exhibited. I would like to believe they're not locals but I'm afraid they're for the most part the very individuals complain about other chains customers. To top it off carts are just left wherever as nobody sees to bother putting them back. People just standing blocking narrow aisles with no concern for others.
Anyways on to the actual staff and store gripes.
The cashier didnt seem too friendly. The cashier in food court more obviously rude with an attitude she was annoyed to take order and bit rude asking which method of payment as if I had an idea there were kiosks which I didn't notice until after. Mandi could use some training in customer service. I don't recall Costco checking all receipts which created a long line and I did ask the door person which he stated all Costco do so. While it's understandable at the same time it is bit excessive in my opinion.
I sure hope to have a better experience in...
Read moreNice to have the selection of Costco in town and the cashier’s assistant I had was amazing (the cashier herself was a little too busy wondering off to the next register). For an opening weekend they were very disorganized and it wore on everyone.
There was no signage for where people need to go. If you were not in the right spot you were getting chided by employees about where lines were as if you “ought to know” the random cluster of people over there or the one person standing in the middle of the aisle is a line when there are people congregated in bundles everywhere and no indication of where the line starts. Or misinformation was given by a separate employee who told you to wait here or there. No kind direction at all, just a snap from a random employee walking by.
I even watched one employee scold a customer who was walking the line of dog food to not go past a random stop sign light when all she was trying to do was look at all the different types of dog food from start to finish. She had not even entered the light where the “back room was”. No one likes to be scolded like a child especially when they are just trying to get their bearings in a packed building…
My advise, especially when you know you are going to be packed, put up proper signage or stickers on the floor so people who have never entered a Costco know what they are doing/need to be or place employees specifically to direct people rather than having sampling booths causing even more problems for people to move around. By the third employee snapping at someone and rolling their eyes I was ready to leave…
The two stars is solely for the selection of products and the Cashier’s assistant, whose name I really wish I could remember, each of which deserve...
