A little more expensive then places like Ziggi's if you just want a plain cup of coffee to go however, if you want a cozy little place to sit down with some local flaire then this is the place to be!
It's pretty fun to sit and people watch here, sometimes I see a lot of college kids doin their thing on the computer, other times it's older people just sittin down and relaxing.
During the winter time they pull out a nice little stove fireplace to cuddle up to. The couches are worn but comfortable, and everyone likes to sit in them! They have a magazine rack next to the restrooms with local papers in them, you can drop off current magazines if you don't want them over there. Restrooms are super clean and always have soap and hand lotion (which is amazing with this dry colorado weather) and the female restroom has a cute little changing table with a box of wipes under it.
The employees I've seen lately are super great, they'll chat ya up and listen to what you have to say. Sometimes they look a little tired and ragged but even then they're super nice and friendly.
They sell local arts and crafts as well as cups and mugs, post cards, etc. There's a little board next to the register where people can post local ads and such, it's always pretty full of interesting fliers.
They do a program where you can "donate" a coffee per say for someone in need. You basically pay for 2 coffees and the extra is put on hold until someone comes by and asks if they have a free coffee available and they give it out to them. Never done this myself but it's a nice thought!
Their coffee is pretty great, it's organic and all of that fun stuff. The decaf tastes amazing for decaf! They also have teas (I think they carry the Numi brand?) and I tried their London fog (earl grey with milk and lavender syrup) both with and without the syrup and the tea itself was pretty tasty. They have a bunch of little treats like muffins and such, they also carry bagels and warm brownies. They also make smoothies too!
I recommend trying the mexican mocha, it's got mexican hot chocolate which is more of a gritty textured and spiced hot chocolate but...
Read moreI always try to make it a point to visit a local coffee place whenever I see one I’ve not seen before. I was going to meet a new client and was early so I decided to look up a coffeehouse in the area and Red Frog came up. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I like chai. I asked if they had any and they said they carried Sanctuary Chai and told me the different kinds. I chose the regular one and asked for two pumps cinnamon and one pump vanilla. Was told all they had was powdered cinnamon. I thought that was strange for being a coffee place, but definitely not the end of the world. I then asked for it to have just a small amount of whip cream on top, he said okay and told me my total was over $5 I thought that was insane! Especially for the size! It couldn’t have been more than 12-16oz cups. You get a much larger size at Starbucks, even if you ask for extra chai pumps! I go to taste it and it was absolutely disgusting! One of the worst chai’s I have ever had, I threw it away after the first small sip. Huge waste of money! Extremely disappointed, especially with them being so close to my new client, was hoping that I found my new spot. On top of the quality of product being bad the employees weren’t the friendliest either. I had asked the girl making my drink that she could leave the lid on the side since I was getting whip cream and she made a face and said something under her breath and then when she handed me my drink she didn’t hand me a lid and when I asked for it she said in a very short tone that it wouldn’t fit because of the whip cream and when I said I know and it’s okay she rolled her eyes and just seemed annoyed. If the quality of product was good I can ignore under par service, but when both are bad then I feel the need to say something. The man that took my order was pleasant, so I will give credit where...
Read moreThe service was super friendly, great smiles and just this immediate warmth and kindness. They are full of local finds from artwork to hot sauce. They also stand for supporting directly to causes of need. So when you support the coffee shop, it was my impression, you also will support these causes. I ordered a local burrito which was flavor wise, one of the best I’ve had in awhile. And the salsa appeared homemade and was full of flavor and very delicious. My only recommendation is to get a toaster oven to throw them in because the microwave made the tortilla hard and chewy. Took away from the greatness of this fantastic dish. Then the coffee selection was probably error on my part. I’m allergic to a preservative found in most liquid flavorings, so I have to order basic coffees, or cappuccinos. So I ordered a cappuccino with almond milk. It was so dark and so strong my stomach started hurting mid cup. And I am an avid coffee drinker! So much so, I own a Juno 6 at home and have my beans shipped to my home from all over the world. So coffee is my thing, and this reaction to coffee is not common for me. I ordered a half cup of almond milk to turn it into ice coffee to tame it down. Still a tad hard to drink. Overall the experience was a 4.5 because I don’t think these small quirks in the food deserved knocking it down to a 4. I would...
