I guess I was expecting more. Especially for the over $100 for 2 adult dinners, 1 kids spaghetti and meatballs, one butternut noodles, a couple of salads and desserts. I had the lasagna and sausage. Like I said, I was expecting more. I was expecting a sausage link, it was chopped up, looked more like a hotdog, and tossed in if that was the extra $5 sausage. I was just kinda meh about it and for $22 bucks you should be proud of your lasagna. I was under whelmed. My wife had the butternut squash ravioli which was oversweet with too much cinnamon. If she hadn't of added chicken and peas, it would have been just sad ravioli in a tin. For $22 bucks it lacks value and flavor. The kids meals were just pasta with a scoop of sauce and some meatballs. Nothing special for $13. If you're looking for fast food itialian I guess this is it. I thought it was going to be more and better. When I saw the 3 bags of food and felt the weight I knew my first experience was going to he disappointing. I asked if this was everything, like I thought she must have missed half of the order. There's a lot of good Italian out there. This isn't it. Maybe it was a bad night. It's hard make frozen food heated up present or taste better than it is. When it's processed, it shows. When it's real food I give 5 stars, call them with a complement and come back. This wad my first and last time to the itialian twist. The...
Read moreI grew up eating food cooked by a couple who were born and raised in Italy and I have been an Italian food snob ever since. It's rare to find anything as good as what I grew up with, but "The Italian Twist" has managed to create dishes that are both authentic and delicious. I took my (large) family in for the first time yesterday. We expected a sit-down restaurant and were slightly surprised to find that it was an "order-at-the-counter" fast-food type atmosphere. It's small in size, but the service was phenomenal and the Italian music and wall decor were awesome. Even though you order at the counter, they bring the food to you on glass plates with real silverware, and they bus the tables when you're done. These dishes averaged between $13 and $19 per plate. Among us, we had the pesto, carbonara, jubilee, spinach mushroom ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, and macaroni & cheese. The quality and taste are equal to (dare I say better than) some of the "fancier" Italian places that charge $25 to $35 per plate. We are definitely making this our go-to, #1 Italian spot in Northern Coloardo. It's better than anything we've found in Boulder, Longmont, Loveland and Fort...
Read moreThere were 4 of us and it is a walk up counter to order with some tables and chairs inside and out for dining. Very sterile, uninviting interior - like they'd prefer you order take-out. As I'm not much of a pasta eater I chose the Italian club. It had three pieces of meat per sandwich half (not exaggerating), no cheese, no peppercinis (which it lists on the description) a smidgeon of mayo, no Italian dressing, a little bit of lettuce, a couple slices of tomato and they charged an additional $2.50 because I had to have a gluten free bun. My daughter's was the same as mine. So we paid about $13 each for a sandwich that was pretty much bread. I would pay roughly the same amount at Jersey Mike's and get 4x the meat, cheese, condiments, etc and the gluten free bread. Husband and son ordered pasta. Said the food was good but the pasta was under cooked - way too al dente. The meat portion was small on each. No alcohol. Strictly soda fountain or water. I would not go back for the price/quality ratio but hubby thought it was "ok". He did not appreciate the expected minimum tip of 15% on a fast food style, walk up to the counter to...
