A friend and I traveled down to Moab for a spontaneous trip this past weekend. My battery light began blinking on & off about a half-hour outside of Moab, but it turned off, so we didn't think much of it. My alternator was whining and giving a slight kick back, but nothing was open, so we decided to go to O'Reilly's once we woke up on Sunday. We went in, Charlie checked my battery, and it needed to be charged to test, so I took his recommendation to just check it at O'Reilly's in Price on our way back to Salt Lake City. Well, my friend & I decided to go sightseeing before we drove back, but 10 minutes away from the O'Reilly's, my car's battery & alternator died and we were stuck on the side of 191. We called O'Reilly's, and even though they don't offer emergency services, Charlie called his friend Josh who came to my rescue. He replaced my alternator on the side of the road, was nothing but nice to us, and then I drove the car back to the O'Reilly's to charge/test my battery. That ended up being dead too, so Josh replaced my battery as well. He only charged me the amount that the alternator & battery cost on his discount! This sweet man went out of his way to help a total stranger and didn't even charge me for his 2-3 hours of labor. I paid him $150 plus the amount of the alternator & battery, and I wish I could've paid him more for his time and kindness. I know that if I had waited to go into a shop on Tuesday (because Monday was President's Day, so everything would've still been closed), I would've been charged double what I paid Josh, for less attention and quality work Josh provided. He made sure my car was safe to drive (he checked EVERYTHING, not just my alternator/battery) and that my friend and I could get back to Salt Lake City that same day. He didn't talk down to me because I was a woman or try to upcharge me because I didn't know anything about cars. If anyone finds themselves in Moab in need of a mechanic or auto parts, please go to this shop and ask for Josh or Charlie. They saved me so much time, energy, and money! I wish Josh was up here in Salt Lake City, because I would never have to search for an honest, kind, and attentive...
Read moreIâm from Ogden, UT, and my family and I decided to spend some time away in beautiful Moab, UT. But on New Yearâs Eve, things took a turn when I noticed antifreeze leaking from my truck. After looking closer, I discovered a hole in my radiatorânot exactly what you want to deal with at 9:00 PM on a holiday night.
First thing the next morning, I called OâReilly Auto Parts, and thank goodness they were open! But there I was, still in Moab, with no tools, a busted radiator, and a looming 10:00 AM checkout from our rental. Oh, and we had a 270-mile drive back home ahead of us.
Nathan, an absolute hero. From the moment I called, he was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, reassuring me that replacing the radiator was doable. Despite the freezing 30-degree weatherâand it being New Yearâs DayâNathan went above and beyond. He checked on me multiple times, offered clear guidance on how the cooling system works, and made sure I was confident in completing the job.
Thanks to Nathanâs exceptional customer service, I managed to replace the radiator, check out of the rental on time, and drive home safely. I canât thank him enough for his dedication and support during such a stressful situation. OâReilly Auto Parts, youâve got an amazing team member in Nathan. This experience has set the gold standard for customer service, and Iâll be...
Read moreI absolutely love this place. On October 10, 2024 I called because I needed a replacement gas cap and Jordan answered the phone. He gave me several choices and had them at the counter waiting for me when I got there. He even went out to my vehicle(FJ Cruiser) to see if it fit correctly. Then he asked me if there was anything else I needed. wishfully thinking, I asked him if he had any idea what was causing the phantom noise that multiple mechanics couldn't find. It's a loud metal to metal sound that is terrible. He crawled under my vehicle and immediately noticed the ARB rock rails were installed incorrectly and were hitting the body. This was installed by the dealer in 2010 as part of the FJ Crawler package. I can't remember how many licensed mechanics have looked at it and given false diagnosis. After getting home to Sedona, I removed the rock rails and made modifications. The vehicle is perfectly quiet now thanks to Jordan. I can never thank him enough. Please tell him how...
