We booked a condo through Brad at Steamboat Vacation Rentals for the last week of the year - probably one of the most popular weeks. We booked well in advance and chose Brad's property over several others. We would be driving from several states away and had all of our holiday plans in place.
Through no fault of his own, the condo we booked went into foreclosure (through it's owner) after our booking. Brad called us, refunded us and sent us some alternative properties we could look into. That is where the good customer service stopped.
We were traveling at the time all this took place. My husband and I had to spend an entire afternoon on our trip scrambling to book one of the very few remaining options for our Steamboat at it's peak season. In order to get something that still fit our needs at the last moment, we ended up having to book something that cost nearly $1000 more than our original booking. This was way out of our budget, but we had no options. Everything else that fit our family's needs was gone. What was left was the very expensive and the ones no one wanted for obvious reasons. We needed some help from Brad to recoup some of our new extra expenses due to his cancellation. Surely the company's owner would step up and do the right thing? None of this was our fault and we relied on our guaranteed booking. Surely the Steamboat Vacation Rentals would be able to help make up the difference, right? After all, if we had cancelled our reservation within that 60 day window, we would have been out 15% (per their contract). Would they oblige by their own policy and send us back 15% for our troubles -- at a minimum? Would they make up the difference or comp us some lift tickets to ease the blow of our our budget? (They do get quite a large % take from each rental.) The answer is NO. None of the above.
Good luck to you if you choose Steamboat Vacation Rentals. Hopefully everything will go smoothly - but if it doesn't, you will be on your own. And hopefully it is not...
Read moreThe condo was very nice. The heated garage was perfect. We got nearly 2 feet of snow while we were visiting. The condo has all the amenities one would need for a week. The beds were comfortable and the unit was spacious. The kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub is across the parking lot, not at the actual condo. The internet was not strong. It would be better to have the internet password accessible. At night it was virtually impossible to access. During the day we were on the slopes so internet wasn't needed. The condo is technically 3 floors (carrying suitcases up 3 flights of stairs). It wasn't a problem for us but I say that for anyone who doesn't know this. The fireplace is very easy - just flip a switch and instant fire - this was NICE! The condo is decorated nicely and the furniture is very comfortable. Getting to the property from the airport was easy. We drove and parked in the parking garage daily to ski. It was worth the $25.00 day for convenience - I have 3 boys. When we were done for the day, we left without having to wait on a shuttle. I recommend the condo for a small...
Read moreWe stayed at the Saddle Creek (Steamboat) townhouse this February. The place actually looks better than in the pictures. It is very well kept, and very clean. We are a family of 5 and found that we had more than enough room. The hot tub was a great plus after a day of skiing, skating, tubing, or whatever outdoor activity we had.
The place was so comfortable that on a couple of days, it took us longer than expected to actually get out. It is obvious that the owners take pride in making it feel like a home. Thanks you very much for allowing us to share it.
It was our first time in Steamboat Springs. The town is fantastic. Now I understand why we kept hearing from "locals" that they had first gone for vacation and wound up moving to Steamboat.
Brad from Steamboat Vacation Rentals was very helpful. He even took his time to pass by and help us out with a few things. Without reservations we would recommend the property as well as the services of Steamboat...
