Brick — Restaurant in Colorado

We ordered dinner to-go from the Brick as it was recommended by our friends whom we were visiting in Steamboat Springs. We ordered the steamed mussels appetizer, the Gio salad, and 2 pizzas (Pomodoro & Diavola). We had to wait until they opened just to place our order. They open at 5 pm. After ordering we walked in to pickup. They were not at all busy (they had just opened) but they ignored me standing there for my order pick up at the hostess desk. Steadily walking past me just ignoring my presence. I finally got our order and left with it. We dined at our place at OSP. The hot dishes were already getting cold and needed warming up. The mussels were really pretty good. The Gio salad was okay at best but very small for what I paid for it. The pizzas were not bad with the nod going towards the Diavola as the better of the 2 ordered. My immediate impression of the Brick is that this is a restaurant for the entitled diner, the upper class. I got that immediately from the few minutes I stood there just waiting to pick up my order. The prior review must of been the first day they opened and not fair and the person obviously has never had authentic Italian pizza. Probably had twelve 9 year olds with her. This is fast becoming my favorite restaurant in Steamboat from the same owner as Paramount. This is a neat new restaurant located close to the mountain. You have to see this pizza oven! The pizzas are great, but not a venue for "all you can eat" baseball teams. Adults or a family will love this environment and the main entrees are incredible. The short rib (roast) was unbelievable, melt in your mouth, falling off the bone delicious. The Fresca pasta dish is simple and delicious if your not wanting the heavy meat. They have recently expanded the menu and I can't wait to try the lamb chops. The chef is very friendly and comes out to ensure you are pleased with your order. I recommend Brick because it is unique and ideal for people to relax without fighting to find a place park downtown. Try the family recipe tiramisu. Well...

Had dinner here recently. Gluten free pizza crust was really good, and the toppings were also really good. Good Cheese and sauce. I like the location, close to the base, and the atmosphere, but I only give it 3 stars because they use plastic cups, which doesn't seem to fit the vibe of the restaurant. There was also a VERY strong smell of sewage/rotten seafood from time to time. I'm not entirely sure what the smell was, but it was pungent and distracting, enough to look around and try to determine it's source. Had it not been super busy and a packed house, I would have asked about it. I will definitely eat here again, and would definitely recommend others do as well, simply because they use an actual gluten free crust, and not a cauliflower crust that seems to be prevalent in Steamboat.
