Okay! Would give 10 stars if I could! Let’s break it down:
My husband surprised me with a Valentines Dinner here. They’ve only been open a couple of weeks so I had no idea!
He reserved a table in advance with a special Valentines Day menu. He said reserving it was very easy.
We arrived, large parking lot so no issues parking. Easy to drive to and convenient location.
After entering we were greeted by a very nice hostess and immediately seated.
Our table was already decked out and ready for us. Immediate service bring us water. Everything looked so nice!
The lit menu showing the courses for the night and the wine list was a super cool touch! Did not expect that! (Also spoiler alert the check later is also lit up!)
Our server Marissa was an absolute gem! There’s not a single thing I would change about our night! I was genuinely surprised at how knowledgeable she was for only being open a couple of weeks. I’ve been a server before so I expect people to still figure things out but she was 100/10! Would go back just for her!
Our food was amazing. First course was an edible scallop dish that honestly was almost too pretty to eat. Second course was the choice between a salad or tomato bisque. My husband got the salad and said it was great. My bisque was so good I asked if they had a grilled cheese on the regular menu because it would be absolute fire. Of course they do (Marissa sold us on that!) so we have to come back! Entree was surf and turf and everything about it was amazing both by taste and visually. Dessert was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. Ever. And chocolate covered strawberries as well which was the icing on top!
Drink wise-our Valentine Day special came with champagne. We also got other drinks that were all amazing. I got the French 75 and the Aviation. My husband got the Whiskey Sour and the Old Fashioned. Divine.
Honestly super surprised this place is only a couple of weeks old. It’s such a well oiled machine that I expected it to be something that had been here for a couple of decades!
Ambiance was great. Music was just the right level. Lights were dimmed to the right level. Noise was minimal. And the windows showed the gorgeous view outside.
We are on day 2 of our vacation and already plan to go back with the entire family!
Thank you Marissa and everyone who made our first visit one...
Read moreThis may just take the cake for the worst restaurant I’ve had the misfortune of visiting. Service was slow and unhelpful, the food itself was disgusting, and prices were laughably high.
The restaurant itself had a very odd vibe - clearly trying to be fine dining but interior felt cheap, there was nobody there (should’ve taken the hint), and the staff seemed very young and inexperienced.
The menu has a bizarre array of cuisines that have no place next to each other and every dish is either fish or meat with some random combination of vegetables. Side dishes are all $18 which seems absurd and looked highly unappetizing (chorizo mac and cheese sounds like a no go for me).
Drink menu is alright but again there are some pretty laughable prices on there. They wanted $38 for a single glass of Veuve Cliquot (a bottle is like $70 at the supermarket), but at least there were some decent wines by the glass. The waiter, however, found it necessary to quiz me on my ID (colorado, well over 21, was with my parents) which seemed really unprofessional (at a bar fine, but here really).
We tried a seriously bland appetizer, labneh and mushrooms with pita. The mushrooms tasted like potluck food and the dish had no salt, heat, or acid.
We tried 3 seafood dishes and all were horrible. The best was the sea bass, which basically tasted like a cucumber - watery, limp, and tasting of nothing. It was served on top of some uninspired grey boiled vegetables. The shrimp pasta was much worse. Shrimp had the consistency of a tire, pasta was sort of not a shape at all (it was just long thin sheets like you would make before cutting a shape), and the whole dish lacked salt. The worst was by far the alaskan halibut (our waiter’s recommendation). Dish was supposed to have morels, but instead came with a side of those same nasty mushrooms we had earlier. The halibut itself was tough and flavorless, and it was topped with a random slice of grilled onion. Needless to say we could not bear to finish any of our entrees.
Obviously we didn’t try desert, but beef fat donuts weren’t a hard choice to turn down. This sad excuse for a meal came in at over $200, and by that point it was sort of funny. If you have any semblance of a palate, do not go here. This is simply put a really bad restaurant. They should either shut down in shame or hire...
Read moreWe made this reservation specifically because they advertised happy hour at the time we wanted to be there. When we tried to order happy hour drinks we were informed that happy hour only applied if we ordered at the bar. So I tried to go and order drinks at the bar and the grouch behind the bar just says "No. You can order from your server". For some reason, calling ahead and making a reservation disqualifies you from happy hour pricing. It's a ridiculous and misleading policy. The bartender was incredibly unpleasant and seemingly irritated at being asked to serve us drinks. I did not push the matter with him in any way.
Other than that, I had the porkchop. It was OK. Everyone else seemed to love their other dishes so take that for what you will. Our table server was fantastic and friendly. Eager to answer questions and above and beyond in his responses. He redeemed the night in spite of much of the frustration we had in regards to the aforementioned matter. I would give service 5 stars if he was the only one we had interacted with. Grumpy Gary behind the bar is why...
