So yelp won't keep a negative review up. Here it is again. No lies, no vendetta, just want people to know about this business.
I posted a truthful review of how this business conducts itself. Yelp got complaints from the owner and took it upon itself to take this review down because the owner didn't like to hear the truth.
I will try again to give an accurate, honest review of my dealings with this company.
We contacted this vendor on our way out to Colorado and had a discussion with the owner, Matt, on the phone. We explained to him that we were coming to stay at a friend's house in Vail/Avon area. He recommended we call him and set up the rental when we got to town.
The prices given were fair for the market and the offer of a multi-day discount seemed to be a nice touch. After a bit of discussion on the phone we decided we would use this business to rent for our off road needs for equipment we didn't bring with us.
Fast forward to today. I had the person who wanted to rent the bike call him. Matt began with expletives describing how the bike would handle on the highway. It's going to vibrate like a motherf*er. He then said he had to go and would call back. He did call us back.
My friend proceeded to try to give Matt the address and had to ask for the home address of the house where we were staying as my friend had no idea what the address was as it was my friend's first time here. Matt said, "you don't know where you f*ing live. You told me you were local." We never told him anything like this. We did ask for a multi day discount which he agreed to on a prior phone conversation but in the end, reneged on.
My friend asked Matt if he wanted to rent to us or not after going round and round with his inane comments to my friend. "Not with an attitude like that I don't" he tells my friend and then hangs up on him.
I called Matt and told him I'd like to rent the bike, knowing all this but playing like I didn't to see what happened. Matt proceeded to tell me that my friend started swearing at him (didn't happen, I was there while he was talking on the phone). He said "I am not going to rent to you or anyone you know and neither will anyone else" Matt said he called the other rental places in town and commented "good luck renting anything here, I called the other rental shops and told them not to rent to you".
Matt has no scruples and a very poor idea of what customer service is. He said, "I don't need your money, I have paying customers waiting".
"Paying customers" should carefully read this review and reconsider doing business with Vail Extreme Rentals. How anyone could give a company like this business is beyond me.
There is no nefarious reason for the comment. I just want others to know what they could be in for if they deal with...
Read moreI almost did not rent from Vail Extreme Rentals due to a couple of the bad reviews, but I am very glad I took a chance and did so.
I reserved a yz450 timberlsed machine. Called and spoke with Matt the night before to confirm and set up a pickup time and then met him the next day. He had the timbersled ready on the trailer and hooked it up to my truck while I filled out some paperwork. He went through the different locations with me, gave me some tips, and then I went on my way. Found the trail no problem and went riding for the day.
Overall could not be more pleased. The yz450 kit was in great shape and riding was a ton of fun. The other machines looked to be top quality as well. Prices were fair for a high end kit and I look forward to working with them in the future to do more timbersledding.
To anyone reading these reviews, i wouldn't worry about the negative comments. It seems most of the negative reviews are from people that showed up and acted like goons. If you've never driven a truck before, you probably shouldnt be towing stuff. If you cant tie down a snowmobile to the trailer, you probably shouldnt be towing stuff. A guided tour would likely be better for such folks as well as safer for the other drivers, other riders, and the equipment.
Bottom line, if you show up and act like a responsible rider, I think you will have a positive experience. If you show up and act like a goon, then you'll probably be leaving negative comments on google.
Cheers and...
Read moreWe rented a 4 seater Polaris for the day. 1st, beware of the ridiculous $40 charge if you bring the item back dirty - to explain, you are going up a mountain which is dirt, dust, mud, rocks etc. When we went it had/was raining off and on, it was IMPOSSIBLE to not get it dirty. They charge you this fee with no option for you to be able to clean it yourself, which we would have gladly done to avoid this very steep $40 charge. 2nd, please make sure you have a way to map with no internet. Most of the trails are poorly marked, if at all, and the maps provided covered thousands of miles of trails that were not even in this same area. We spent hours trying to even locate where we were, which made for a lot of frustration. (smaller, more precise, and highlighted trial maps should have been provided) Outside of those big disappointments, we did thoroughly enjoy our day. The trials covered a large span of different terrains, scenery and thrills. Matt was friendly and informative on safety directions, but not very informative on where to go/provide more info on maps etc. The Polaris was in good shape, ran well & was...
