Update: recently spoke with the staff in the fish section and they were unaware that the water temperature should match the tank temperature when doing water changes. So that explains why the fish are always dead and sick in this store, as they are abusing the fish every time they do a water change. Three weeks later after I informed the staff of this, I continue to see dead and sick fish in the tanks along with extremely stressed fish huddled in corners of the tanks desperately seeking warm pockets. I saw that the floating temperature gauge was 60 degrees F in one tank. The worst part is the utter disregard and carelessness of the the staff, because now they are aware of the issue. They literally couldn’t care less. The people in this store should be criminally investigated for animal abuse as I can only imagine how they treat the small animals and reptiles given their blatant disdain for the fish or really any living animals. What a disgusting display of empathy and care, or lack there of. I am referring this store to the MSPCA Law Enforcement division.
This store’s aquarium section should be shut down, the fish are always sick: ich in the fish tanks with no signage to warn people, betta fish have skin falling off from ammonia burns and they mix aggressive fish with non-aggressive fish, so many of the fish are ripped to shreds and exhibiting clear signs of stress. Also, they don’t carry ANY medicines for aquariums, so don’t waste your time coming here if you have a sick fish emergency. Close this section completely and stop the animal abuse. The staff have no aquarium expertise, they treat their fish the same as the feeder crickets. They can’t tell me when the last time anyone changed the water in the betta fish cups, they don’t know where or if they have signage to warn people about the communicable diseases in their fish tanks, let alone knowing anything about the diseases like ich and epistylis that are rampant in their tanks, they also don’t know anything about the fish they sell, putting pea puffers in with tetras and gouramis and letting the pea puffers chew their tank mates to death. The aquatic plants are always half dead. Worst pet store in the area by far, it’s a 50% chance that every time I go there for cat or fish needs as to whether they will have what I am looking for, and you have to walk by all the dying and distressed fish every time you...
Read moreI set up an appointment to have my dog groomed. I got a text asking me to bring her in early, and I was fine with that. The original appointment was at 4:15 or 4:30 (I don't recall) and agreed to get her there around 1:30 instead. I'd requested the bath and haircut, plus the summer package. I was told 1.5-2 hours and she'd be ready. My wife went back three hours later and they still were not done. What they HAD done is terrible. They missed her front-right foot for the haircut. They did not trim the hair in her ears. She was left with a beard (the hair on her chin is MUCH longer than anywhere else) instead of cutting her hair more uniformly. Her nails were neither cut nor buffed. The buffing is something I paid extra for and didn't even get the basics complete. The groomer was rude to my wife and said she was there too early. When I'm told 2 hours on the long side, and someone is there at the roughly three-hour mark, and the job isn't complete, something is wrong. They didn't contact my wife nor me to let us know things were running much longer than expected. I cannot ever recommend this location for any grooming. I don't know if any other Petcos are this bad, but I don't think I'll ever use their services for cutting again based...
Read moreI haven’t even made it to my appointment, typing this while I am on my way there. Probably will miss said appointment. I Booked for 4:50 pm, this was the latest option given to me. I live 35 minutes away. I get a call at 4:00 pm asking if I can come in sooner. Great, sure! I was then told that if I’m not there at exactly 4:50 on the dot they will not see me because everyone leaves at 4:57 and these are only 7 minute appointments. A little ridiculous but sure ok fine. I hang up with, who I am assuming is a receptionist and I again receive another call, with someone in the background telling this person on the phone what to say and am told “if the dog can’t be handled by the vet and vet tech we won’t be able to see her” the way this conversation was going seemed to me like the individuals there just didn’t even want to be bothered to see my dog at the scheduled appointment time of 4:50. Next time you need to cancel do the person a favor and just cancel instead of throwing every excuse in the book to NOT...
