Sierra — Local services in Framingham

Do not judge this store by its façade.

I've walked past Sierra many times - the outside of the store is boxy, clean, and modern. It reminded me of Moosejaw - another outdoors store located in Natick Collection. Let me tell you about Moosejaw. I remember walking into Moosejaw and I saw a yoga mat - for $99.99. Let that sink in for a minute. This was a rectangle of foam rubber neoprene - FOR A HUNDRED DOLLARS.

SIERRA IS NOT LIKE THAT.

To my surprise, Sierra is filled with name brand gear at a discount. They have Merrell boots and shoes - a particular pair of their tactical model was discounted to $50. They also had snowboard jackets from Analog and several other makers at reduced retail pricing.

I didn't see their yoga mats, but I highly doubt they sell one approaching $100.

Because of the nature of their inventory, they won't have every product in every size - so if there's something you're interested in, it's probably best to snatch it up quick.

Love the items and have bought a lot online and also at this location. Staff is horrible. Always someone at the register looking like they hate you. No staff says hello that is working the floor. I was there tonight looking for a new jacket for my daughter and there was an associate working that area and never said hello to my daughter, wife, or my self. When we were checking out the cashier never said he could help us or greeted us in any way. Part of the Marshall's and TJX group, the Sierra Trading Post chain is their sporting wear division. A small selection of discounted camping gear opens up to a larger selection of discounted and factory 2nd sportswear. Hiking boots, sneakers, sandals, trail walkers are all included in the footwear selection. Casual pants, hiking pants, jeans, shorts, long and short sleeved shirts, jackets and general outdoorsy clothing make up the bulk of the store. The chain seems new.
