Went to show some half dollar pieces and other coins that I've looked up online that are worth money.. 1971 half dollar D MINT MARK selling for up to 2000 in circulated good condition. The old man didn't even care just went for the stuff he knew was 90 percent silver 1 coin a silver pendant and a ring that was 200.... 25 bucks straight rip off. The old man with glasses didn't care to look my coins worth up only wanted what he didn't have to look up. He did not weigh my metals,he did not ask for my I.D. NO RECEIPT on top of that. So if a criminal steals your stuff they will buy it and if your coin has errors or is a rare coin they probably wouldn't tell you and buy it and sell it for triple the amount. That's how my Franklin coin shop stop went. I would recommend younger middle aged workers who can take the time to look items up. I'll be going somewhere else. NO I'm fine you just keep saying best prices around you guys don't even check I.D.s or weigh the metals. I had multiple coins didn't care to look.. just keep thinking best around.. hahaha and now that Kennedy's files released they're making Bank off of all the half dollars that's why the old man snagged my 1964 only wants to pay 10 bucks or something that has history and value I recommend you to sell scrap here but if it has errors mint marks history sell it online they'll take all the valuables and give you pennies. Please have your stuff appraised by a professional and sell it online. I feel sorry for people who went there knowing the coins they have are worth a chunk of money only to...
Read moreHad several decent transactions here selling coins in the past. Recently had an emergency (vehicle problems) and needed to sell a couple coins from my collection. One coin I had decided to part with was a 1909 D indian head half eagle 1/4 oz. gold coin. Melt price was $318 alone but wholesale collectors price was around $435-$525. I was offered melt price which kind of was upsetting but I understand business so was able to stomach that I was being treated like a crack head at a pawn shop. Then the owner took my 109 year old mint gold coin and threw it down on the counter like it was a 2019 penny while saying "it might be cleaned" I wasnt sure if it was cleaned or not but I am sure my coin had a nice big gouge in it that it didnt have before I took it I to Franklin Coin shop. Gold and coin of fishers, coin and currency in avon, coin index in Greenwood, flying dutchman in indy are just 4 of the coin shops around that will offer more money and more respect to you and your coins. AVOID FRANKLIN COIN SHOP. By the way the coin wasnt cleaned and I was offered $80 more elsewhere. Without the gouge I wonder what I would have...
Read moreWent here to try and sell some coins, but what they were trying to offer was low and they didn't seem very knowledgeable. They kind of remind me of a pawnshop. I would suggest doing some price comparisons or doing a google search yourself to find a common ground on prices.
Update* In reference to response to the coin shop comment. Not sure who Trish is but... They were correct about my lower priced items (1 quarter set), however, my higher priced coins they were trying to offer half of what it was worth. They look up a lot of their items from Ebay sold section, so if you have a Ebay account you can easily look up what your item is worth and see what they offer. I only took a chance on them because, The Coin Hunt, one of the coin shops I previously sold several coins...
