Things have changed from some years ago when they would take your information and then have you choose on paper what you wanted. Now they give you a card with how many are in your household. The amount of members tells them how many points you get to shop with. You get to push your cart around and choose what you want. It affords a bit more freedom of choice. But when you use all your points, you are done for two weeks. There are some restrictions such as, 1 loaf of bread per family or a dozen eggs. But fresh fruits & veggies are free (no points, no limits) There are still the time constraints. Noon - 3 pm Monday- Friday. The building is so nice. They have lots of space with chairs & built in benches around the walls. When possible, doors open at 11 so no more standing in line outside in the cold or heat waiting for them to open up. What's not to love about a group of wonderful people helping keep the small percentage of us that have not exactly our best year and giving us a little ray of sunshine to go with our cart of much needed groceries? The men and women at this wonderful place donate their time and energy everyday to try and make sure that if they have any say in the matter not a single person in the whole county would ever have to go to bed hungry or thirsty. I've been on both ends of the spectrum more than once and I have to admit that I lost a little bit of myself when life has literally tried to drag me under. Usually everyone is really polite and understanding. I finally met the director for the first time. She is extremely rude. I pulled in like I normally do. She greeted me extremely rude. You can't pull in here. I was confused because I pull in the same every time. She said it's 1030, I responded yes the sign says I can enter at 1030. (Whole time being nasty with her replies) she responds yeah I've had people already waiting, so get out out and go wait for them to pull in, because you can't be here till they come in.
