Mercantile 1858 — Local services in Franklin

This is my number one go to place to shop. They always have what I’m looking for, and even items I didn’t realize I needed. The vintage finds here are such unique pieces and the prices always surprise me at how affordable everything is. The owner Matthew and his staff are incredible people and so much fun to work with and they offer amazing ideas for their pieces. This is also my go to place for candles and greeting cards. Cute store. Variety of items from different vendors/consignors(?). Friendly gal at the register gave me great tips for other area places to check out...and I did, and had a great day thanks to her! (Thanks, too, for the sugar mold, I LOVE it).

The clothing area could use some better organization. She had a LOT of great items, and they were actually very reasonably priced, especially given the overall high cost of the area. I think with some more thoughtful displaying; higher center rack, and overall less cluttered racks, she'd get a lot...

I have been into this store at least 3 times and have always encountered friendly staff members who were willing to help me find whatever I was looking for. I also was able to meet the owner, Matthew, one time and he was so sweet! This store has a cute and unique variety of antiques, home goods, and a great selection for gifts! It's close to downtown but without the downtown prices, and I plan to shop here for many years to come. Currently, I wish I could buy the whole store full of Christmas decor, but so far only bought 2 little...
