Venus on the Half Shell — Local services in Frederick

Out of all of the shop keepers and caretakers in Frederick that I’ve met while touring the city, I have to give Jennifer and Eddie 100% props for being the most enthusiastic, care-for-a-job-well-done people I’ve ever met.

Not only do I like their choice selections in fashion and accessories, but I also love how they pay attention to every single detail of Venus on the Half Shell from how the mannequins are displayed to how they pack up purchases. I especially love that Jennifer writes her name on the back of business cards before customers leave. She definitely knows how to treat everyone around her like family. I can understand why Eddie especially loves working here.

I hope to come back here soon for a social gathering of some sort. I can’t imagine a day in which it wouldn’t be possible to expect either wine and cheese or tea and cookies upon entering the shop to the sounds of April March music playing on a vinyl record.

My all time favorite vintage store in Fredrick. Staff is extremely generous and always willing for a good conversation. The selection of clothes is very diverse and i truly believe anyone can find something here. Their changing rooms are very comfortable and they have this huge mirror you can check yourself out in. Overall aesthetic of the shop is just gorgeous. A little pricey but only because it is genuine good quality vintage pieces. Also people being annoyed by not being greeted or asked to help NEED to get over themselves, and also clearly don’t understand what it takes to run a shop this good! The owner is very nice and searching for validation through her was never her responsibility in the first place, shes got a shop to run! And when you go to check out, your immediate assumptions will be proven wrong...

Venus on the Half Shell is five stars in many ways! The store is clean, organized, the pieces are true vintage and the quality is amazing. You wouldn't believe that the pieces could be as old as they are and still remain in a "like new" condition. The Owner has an amazing heart and passion for what she does. This is passed down to her assistants which help create an environment that provides a fun and beautiful vibe. You will want to grab a coffee before you walk in so you can take your time and enjoy the ride going back in time to find some really beautiful pieces to take home....
