I recently dined at Cucina Massi in downtown Frederick, MD, and it was truly a 5-star experience! From start to finish, everything about this Italian restaurant was outstanding.
First and foremost, the food was exceptional. Each dish was bursting with authentic Italian flavors, and I couldn’t get enough of their pasta dishes, especially the lasagna. The quality and taste of the ingredients were top-notch, and it’s evident that the chefs here are passionate about their craft. Best tomato sauce we have ever had!
But it wasn’t just the food that impressed me; the service was equally remarkable. Our attendant, Ervin, was simply awesome. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. His recommendations were spot-on, and he truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
The atmosphere at Cucina Massi is another highlight. The restaurant exudes a cozy and inviting ambiance, perfect for a romantic dinner or a family gathering. It’s a place where you can relax and savor your meal without feeling rushed. Seat in the back if weather is good.
Cucina Massi is a gem in downtown Frederick, offering the best Italian food, impeccable service by people like Ervin, and a delightful atmosphere. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, and I’ll definitely be...
Read moreMy husband and I have always loved the restaurant, so when we were planning our courthouse wedding + small celebration, we knew it had to be at Cucina Massi! Lianne was great to work with, Trish who worked upstairs during the party, was phenomenal. We had 50 guests for an open bar and dinner. The space was tight--it does sit 50 people although not super comfortably--but it was a perfect night. Everyone loved the food and the drinks were great! Our face hurt from smiling and laughing so much by the end of the night.
Two constructive pieces of feedback: They offered to set up the place settings, which included place cards, before everyone got there. Unfortunately, the place cards were almost all incorrectly placed, which resulted in some family drama that I had tried hard to avoid with the seating chart I made, but it happens! We also had drink napkins made with our puppy's face on them, in hopes the bartenders would give them out with the drinks, as it's pretty usual to also give napkins. We have nearly all of them left because they weren't handed out.
With those two things being the "critical" parts of the experience, I'd say we're very lucky!
10/10 would recommend for any rehearsal dinners, small wedding celebrations,...
Read moreWe were a bit disappointed last night celebrating my fathers birthday at Cucina Massi. Nidos was a former long time family favorite so we had high hopes of a positive experience. However our entire party was left shocked at the lack of costumer service and communication. Our waitress was negative and seemed like she didnt enjoy her job. When she saw we had children at our table, she seemed annoyed. She made a few comments throughout dinner that left my family speechless. My party of 8 was crammed at a small table in tight quarters. Meanwhile, I had called twice prior to leading up to the evening asking if they could accommodate my large party and they said if we came at 5 they could. We arrived a little earlier than 5 just to be sure we were early but were still crammed into a small table in a small dining room with no apology. On top of this, we were charged a hefty fee to cut my fathers cake. Being in a family who runs and operates over 35 restaurants, we know the importance of loyal customer service and willingness to work with families, especially in joyous moments like celebrations. Luckily, we felt the food was delicious but out overall experience was tainted and we will not be recommending...
