Truly disgusting customer service. Never in my life, I just moved to Virginia and I've been to this store a couple times and I've never experienced an employee get into a customer's face unprovoked. Over a WATERMELON. At 7:20 pm today 9/1/25 I went in today with my mother we're at self check out. We grab a watermelon a small one it said $4.49. Anyway it scanned $7.99 not a big deal I just asked the check out woman if it was just misplaced. She's repeating that's the price I said okay well then can we just remove It. She asks "WHY? It's just a watermelon it's not a big deal." I explain and show her the picture calmly I apologize for the confusion if it was my fault. She starts talking over me and says "YOURE NOT LISTENING TO ME ARE YOU HEARING ME" She was yelling directly in my face the entire time. I take a step back she turns to my mother who's bagging and says it's on sale when you have the giants card. She's now directly facing my mother who doesn't speak the language and she's aggressively asking her what the problem is. My mom gestures no and I once again ask her to remove the watermelon she continues asking why we don't use the card and if we don't have it to get it. I repeat again for the 3rd or 4th time to just remove the watermelon. She begins to yell at us causing a scene saying why its just a watermelon. I tell her she's speaking over me she scans a card it's now discounted I tell her I just don't want it anymore it wasn't the price now it's the service the disrespect her tone of voice we're uncomfortable. I just wanted to pay for my other items and leave. Prema I believe sighed loudly and said don't talk to me like that relax and we're calm again my mom and I just said we don't have the card just remove the watermelon please. My mom tries to just calm her down and says I'm sorry she yells give me the watermelon and snatches it directly from my hands. She voids it angrily and we paid got our receipt. I head to customer service ask to see a manager woman wouldn't provide her name at the self check out or provide me with anyone's information/ email a time I could speak to anyone or even the woman's name in self check out. Nothing no information just annoyed. Customer service woman repeats "my manager isn't here, they left for the night." That was it also rude and vague. Finally I beg her to write any information she writes the store number on a sticky note? My only real problem is with the self check out older woman employee that made a scene over a small watermelon. It escalated for absolutely no reason. It could've been a complete misunderstanding on my part but she wouldn't stop harassing us about the giants card wouldn't void the item didn't have to yell in my mothers face in front of everyone. As we went to customer service she ran right behind us to see what we said to the woman working that counter. My sole complaint is this older woman gray long hair always at self check out glasses. Name I believe is prema or prima. I will be looking into filing a formal complaint because everyones just unprofessional at this point. Read moreMy family moved to the area last year and made Giant our shopping home but we will no longer be shopping at Giant. We've experienced some piss-poor customer service at this store and found several expired products but the outright disrespect from the pharmacy team on not one but two occasions in less than a two week time span has sealed the deal for us. There is only one customer centric pharmacist (the lady pictured on the wall) the rest are disrespectful and that older long haired blonde lady should be fired for her insolence. I come in once to pickup medication that I received alerts for saying they were ready for pickup. The blonde technician picked up my medication from the pick up rack and proceeded to tell me it wasn't ready and was at another pharmacy. When questioned she admitted she was holding my meds. On the second occasion I was told the medication was too early to fill by the same blonde lady. It was a new medication I had never picked up before. I was then told it was filled elsewhere. I asked for it to be pushed out of the system so that I could fill it there. The blonde woman said no. I left the drive through and went in to ask to speak to the pharmacist. While speaking to the pharmacist she began laughing at me which infuriated me. I came in with proof that my meds had been called in there and asked for you to push it out of the system and fill it there and you laugh in my face!!! All while I received a message saying my meds were ready. Then you state "oh we can fill it here, you'll just have to pay for it". Are you kidding me, do I look like I can't pay for my medication? How incredibly insulting!!! Awful customer service. Awful, awful,awful. Giant will not get another dime from me...
Read moreI had lost my diamond wedding ring 4/2/23. I traced my steps after realizing my dog did not eat it. I called on 4/7/23, remembering I went there that day, and called Customer Service and spoke with Matthew, who was very polite and professional. He said a ring was found and I needed to describe the ring to him. I couldn't believe my ears when he said it was found!! I drove over to Giant and went straight for C.S. I asked if the person who found it wanted a reward. Just when I asked , this nice lady next to me was picking up her box she had left there. Joanne. Who also works at Giant. I lost a paper that had her last name on it. I thanked her many times, holding back my tears of happiness, and she said she was just happy the ring was with it's owner. It made me relieved to find it, but also made me realize there are still some kind hearts out there. Thank you Giant for an amazing staff. They truly meet customer care values. Thanm you Joanne from the bottom of my heart. I will make sure this ring never slips off again....
