Unbelievable! We purchased our kitchen cabinets and island cabinets from here. The “kitchen designer “ has copies of the blueprints and measured them to the outside of the kitchen wall. Now 3 cabinets are to big and the correct size must be ordered. First I’m told I must pay a 15% restocking fee. Yesterday, I’m told that they will not take them back and I must purchase the correct size and pay for them myself. They do not want to accept responsibility for their measuring mistakes. I’m beyond upset not only is this going to cost more and leave us with 3 cabinets we do not need, they are also holding up the kitchen to be finished which is going to delay issuing of our occupancy permit. I will be reporting this to corporate and the BBB. Also, destroying their credit card and I refuse to do business with a store who thinks it’s ok to treat customers like this! BEWARE of you are thinking about ordering your cabinets from them. I want to also let you know twice I had appointments with the young man in this department and he never showed up. Frustrating when you drive over an hour to get there.
Update. Over the course of the past 6 days I have spoken to 3 managers, Bill, Dan and Chris and Sterling and Marvae. Not one of them offered any sort of apology or discount. Instead everyone blamed us. We provided blueprints the first time we went to the store and met with Sterling, the large blueprints that took us his desk plus. He lied and said we had a layout from store 4620, another home department. We have never gone to another Home Depot for a kitchen design and how would that even make sense. If I had why wouldn’t I use them? Blueprints were emailed to both Sterling and Maeve, they say we are lying and did not. This is our kitchen and we provided everything that was requested of us. We wanted this correct the first time. Why would I delay my occupancy permit which is what they are doing. They ordered a trash can cabinet after being told multiple times in writing and verbally that we did NOT want a trash can cabinet. Not once have they offered to make any of this right. Instead all the costs and blame is being placed on us, the customer. This experience has been the worst example of good customer service ever. Saturday I was supposed to receive an invoice so I could pay and get the correct cabinets ordered and on the way. I have yet to receive any invoices and am being told another 4 to 5 weeks for delivery. I believe honestly they are deliberately trying to make this take longer so we have to wait longer on these cabinets because still no invoice. And trying to reach them on the phone is damn near impossible and she may even hang up on me again like she did this morning when she heard my voice. I’m absolutely furious at this entire situation and am filing multiple complaints and more. Go some else for your cabinets don’t get screwed over like us.
I called back because at noon I was told a few minutes for the invoice I was supposed to receive 5 days ago and Marvae gave me all sorts of attitude. I’ve been waiting 5 days for the invoice and she gives me attitude and more excuses. This store needs to hire and train good people who are customer oriented. This is total BS to treat a paying customer this way.
I was charged $1800 for 2 cabinets and I feel like it is because I stood up and told the truth about these people not doing their jobs and I brought it to 3 different managers attention who also did nothing except take up for the employees without looking into the situation or documentation I have and was will to provide. Their actions and attitudes were a piss poor as the employees. They could care less about providing decent customer service.
I will add that I was talking to my contractor yesterday and today and they informed me they have had so many issues with Home Depot that Lowe’s is their go to. My Home Depot credit card has been shredded! You will get no more of my business. Thanks for doing everything in your power to lose business! And not one damn thing to...
Read moreA word of caution to anyone placing a special order at Home Depot. We ordered a vanity in the Spotsy store, then tried to cancel our order the next day. We were told we couldn't because we were outside their 45 MINUTE cancellation window. What store has a 45 MINUTE cancellation window? When pressed on what my options were for a refund, I was told I would have to wait for the order to be delivered to my home and then bring it back to the store myself. When I asked how I was meant to do that without a truck and if they would pick it up, the customer service rep shook her head and shrugged. She then turned away and ignored me when I tried to question her response. After speaking with a manager I was assured they could cancel the order, but they would have to pass it off to another individual who wasn't in at the time. Sheila Kedrick left a message basically saying "sorry we can't do anything" and offered no further guidance on how to return this item. When she finally decided to pick up the phone and call me back, she again repeated that she couldn't do anything because the vanity is sold by a 3rd party supplier. I asked if she could contact the suppler to cancel the purchase, she said that she doesn't know their number. So not only do Home Depot have a 45 MINUTE return window, they also don't know how to contact their own suppliers. To top it off during our phone conversation Sheila was completely distracted and having other conversations with others in the office. In short, a terrible customer service experience; from a ridiculous return window to customer service reps who ignored the customer, didn't seem to care, and completely uninterested in offering any kind of assistance. Will be taking future...
Read moreWOW what a cluster. I honestly can't remember everything that has gone on. The most recent was going to the store and trying to find someone who works in the "flooring" department even though I was getting kitchen backsplash. Long story short I have spent at least 6 hours in that store and in the end I cancelled my two orders. The installer who has NEVER been to my house said I had lead in my house!! The person came to measure and I spoke to him and watched him the entire time he was here. Two different people, I even tracked him down again after I heard they wouldn't install b/c of lead in my house! He said it wasn't him and he doesn't and didn't do that. The measuring guy said I was tagged b/c my house was built in 1957. Mind you it is backsplash tile in the kitchen 22sq feet to replace tile that had been installed within the past 15 years! I could get NO where with the "assistant manager"who had me wait 25 mins. for him to come out and talk to me while I was waiting in the store. He was in no hurry.....stopped and chatted it up with the associates about 30 feet from me knowing I was waiting....I told him the "installer" has NEVER been to my house and I have never paid for the "installer" to come by my house and the kitchen has already been done several time!! OH well they don't give a flip. Who ever if anyone said that lied and it was probably b/c it was too small of a job even though the labor was over $1000. Live and learn. I even went to this Home Depot b/c the one closest to my house is dark and you can NEVER find anyone, I thought this one was better......NOPE Home...
